I made a test topic to see exactly what you meant, it seems that your redirect template is blank? I am not totally sure though about this.

To check, just login to your ADMIN CP then go to that particular skin in use and then click Edit HTML Templates, click All Global HTML, and edit "Redirect". Is it blank? If so, then this should be there. I'm not totally sure about this anymore though, finding out what else may cause this, since I think I am wrong.

and as I posted in the test topic I made, which you can delete. I suggested that you might want to disable the ability for guests to make topics and posts in all the forums.

I use 2.0.3 as well as other forums I belong too, it's not a problem with the script. Can't be, seems to be something you, the clients did. To me I thought it was a skin problem, still actually might be. I just can't seem to find anything yet, will look again later though. I did not think it'd be what I posted but doesn't hurt to try.

I would go and make sure you have uploaded every single file needed, might of not uploaded a file completely or did not at all. Just a suggestion.

As for those having cookie problems, you must of not set your cookie settings properly in the admin cp. So go and make sure you have.

havent installed any mods....

When i login i click on a topic then says im not logged in when it opens the topic page.

The new registered member thing doesnt show newly registered members

The anti spam registration confirm code thing doesnt work

All of this from upgrading to 2.0.4 and now the settings are saved in my database backup and i cant revert them back :'(

Did you go and make sure all the source files were uploaded correctly?

In the ADMIN CP, go to your Settings and then Security and Privacy. Under Enable Script/Bot Flood Control? change it to Normal, and then see if that fixes your problem with the registration confirm code.

Also in the ADMIN CP, go to Maintenance then Recount & Rebuild. Set everything to No except Reset last registered member, then click Reset these statistics. See if that fixes your new registered member problem.

OMG THIS IS SERIOUSLY CRAP!!!!!! When i make a password protected forum and put the right password in, it keeps taking me back to the password input page over and over again!

When you go to a password protected forum, it stores a cookie, if I recall correctly.

I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with your cookie settings. Do you mind posting them here, so we can make sure? :)

So the blank page when posting a new topic or reply is now fixed? If that is the case, glad to hear that. :)

To stop admin verification login to your admin cp and then go to View All General Settings. Then under Security and Privacy you'll see "New registration email validation?" select None in the drop down box to the right of it, unless you want to turn on User E-mail Verification instead.

Also post your cookie settings as tm said so we can fix your problem with that.

They are all blank.

are there any more settings anywhere?

if you want to see what i mean the password for the prottected forum near the bottom is "test" without the quotes.

ok this is driving me crazy now.... i cant even log in! :@

i must of tried at least 30 times. I am using the correct password, it says i successfully logged in on the redirect page but then takes me back to the index where it says im not logged in! :@:@:@ help me somebody please!!!!

this has happened to my board before.

i believe it is a skin problem

log into the admin cp and go to skins and templates > skin tools > Update Members Skin Choice and make sure everyone has the same skin.

this should work

clear your cookies aswell

@fatjoe151, that problem has been resolved. If you would of actually read all of our replies. sigh.

@Munky00, the problem is because your cookie settings are all blank, you need to set them to be able to stay logged in. :)

So lets fix that problem.

For "Cookie Domain" put the following: .cross-hatch.co.uk

For "Cookie Name Prefix" put the following: leave blank, does not matter, unless you plan to have multiple boards.

For "Cookie Path" put the following: /forums/

Those cookie settings should work where you stay logged in. I say should because people are using http://forums.cross-hatch.co.uk/index.php to get to your forum instead of http://www.cross-hatch.co.uk/forums/ so they should work still though. Unless someone wants to correct me on what I said to set, go ahead.

      They thought value of their goods would forever only drop like it used to and didn't account for sudden increase in price because of all the Ai hype. Tough luck Samsung, don't try to weasel this one out. Also American customer protection laws are a**. In Europe, you need to be compensated for a functioning product of same or better characteristics (not same price point as when it was originally bought!) if it can't be repaired and when you receive a replacement product your warranty starts from scratch because you received a different item than you previously had and old warranty thus cannot apply to it anymore. If your actual item was successfully repaired, warranty gets extended for the period the item was in service. If item is repaired to a significant extent, warranty also starts over from scratch because major part of it was replaced. Americans need to fight to get this kind of consumer protections because they are constantly getting screwed over.

      Louis Rossmann suing Samsung over "990 Pro SSD warranty scam" by Sayan Sen Back in 2023, if you recall, Neowin reviewer Robbie Khan had a dispute with Samsung over his 990 Pro SSD, which was rapidly losing its health. After significant back and forth, the tech giant had finally released firmware to "stop" the issue. Interestingly, its previous flagship at the time, the 980 Pro was also facing problems leading to two consecutive sets of firmware fixes. Three years later, it looks like a similar conflict has now broken out between tech repair entrepreneur YouTuber Louis Rossmann and Samsung, as it has escalated into a threatened lawsuit after the company allegedly refused to appropriately replace a failing 990 Pro SSD that remained under warranty. According to Rossmann, a 4TB Samsung 990 Pro NVMe SSD purchased for approximately $330 less than two years ago, began experiencing major hiccups and issues, even though he claims it had been operated under ideal cooling conditions. It was installed in a RAID 1 array and cooled by a heatsink and dual high-speed fans. However the drive reportedly started dropping out of the array, exhibiting controller-level failures that eventually became not useable in any meaningful way. Rossmann said Samsung’s support process was marked by delays and confusion from the very start. After initially contacting the wrong regional support channel, he was redirected to Samsung’s memory support division where he submitted detailed diagnostics, logs, and proof of purchase. Rossmann runs a repair company and owns an ACE Lab PC-3000 machine, which is a professional-grade data recovery equipment. As such, he had been confident in his diagnostics. Samsung even seemingly acknowledged that later. Regardless, Rossmann claims that his initial support ticket was automatically closed before a full 24-hour response window had elapsed, forcing him to reopen the case and resubmit documentation. The controversy however intensified further from here after Samsung accepted the drive for warranty evaluation but later returned it with a repair report stating that the drive had passed its testing and that the SSD had been verified as functional. Rossmann strongly disputed those claims citing that his own independent testing on PC-3000 showed write speeds reducing to as low as 40–60 MB/s before the drive failed entirely. Samsung subsequently informed him that the SSD had been reset and reflashed, passing internal stress tests. However, the company also stated that replacement units were unavailable due to an industry-wide memory shortage and suggested that a refund process could be initiated if further testing confirmed the fault. Thus, to settle, the company offered a refund of $330, the amount that was initially paid by him to make the purchase. Here, Rossmann pointed out the seeming hypocrisy of the tech giant as in how no Samsung drive was apparently allocated for warranty replacements, but they were abundantly available for retail sales especially when using business accounts. As you can see, Rossmann is indeed right, there are Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSDs on Amazon currently for $950 (shipped and sold by first-party Amazon US itself), and they are also available on Samsung's own store too, albeit for an even higher price of $1100. Thus Rossmann argues that Samsung’s inability or unwillingness to provide a replacement while the same model remains available for purchase at significantly higher market prices reflects a failure to honor its warranty obligations. He has issued a formal 60-day notice and says he intends to file suit in Texas small claims court, asserting that companies should face greater costs for denying legitimate warranty claims than for fulfilling them.
