Any chance of you leaving up the LE3 download this time? And moving noto a new deviation?

If LE4 is going to be a "different animal", not sure why em3 would find it necessary to remove LE3 (or any of the previous versions). Just in case, don't forget to make a back-up. ;)

I think the Classic (non-glossy) compact is really Luna Element at it's best. This glossy stuff is pretty common, even with mods, imo.

Maybe it would be a good idea to polish version 3 a tad more (like add a solid progress bar to the latest compact classic version), before putting so much time into a completely different version number? It would be the "icing on the cake" for version 3, imo..

Acctually I'm planning to update LE3 and the Classic style a little. Thats why I won't delete it when LE4 is done. They will look pretty different. And it doesn't matter how much you are nagging about the solid progressbar. It won't happen. I can't see why you guys like it so much, block style is so much cooler.

That's your opinion, which means ours don't mean much. Why ask for it? I won't "nag" anymore, in fact, I dumpped LE for something else. Your attitude is starting to spoil your vs. I think the praise is going to your head. Thanks...

I am nice to the people who are nice to me. :) Just because I won't give you a solid progressbar you think I have an attitude problem.

I (and other naggers) have always praised your work, obviously you haven't noticed. How quickly we forget. I have even beta tested for you a number of times, and I'm sure you don't remember that either. Anyway, no problem. There are themers like b0se who are willing to go the extra mile for their followers. You obviously are not, even if a number of peeps ask nicely for a mod. Have a good day..

Maybe a way to get around this little impasse is to let somebody do a solid progressbar mod (or grab the one from the older version of LE3), take a peek at it, and call it the "Official Em3-Approved (But ****py Imitation Of My Work Nonetheless) Solid Progressbar Mod." Then we don't have "unapproved personal mods" floating around (which you seem to hate with a fiery passion) and the people who Really Liked the solid progressbar (I'm another) will be happy. I think the appeal is that it's just a nice little touch of Classic poking through but with a nice modern gradiented flair; the block progressbars were one of the last things about the original MS Luna I didn't like that show up in Element. It also "feels" smoother (on a purely psychological level), especially when you're running a long transfer or download, seeing the bar move over just one little pixel lets you know it's still going, instead of seeing a block every 5 seconds (hey, why is my machine copying that 20 gig directory in 1-second bursts?!) Personally, I've just been using an old version.

    • Microsoft wants to end printer driver headaches with Windows Ready Print by Usama Jawad A few days ago, Microsoft released Windows 11 Experimental build 26300.8553, bringing a ton of enhancements such as Start menu customization, search improvements, Taskbar polish, and other minor UI tweaks. Another relatively major enhancement snuck deep within the change log was related to upgrades to the Windows printing experience. Now, Microsoft has shared more details about these benefits. For starters, Microsoft has renamed its Modern Print Platform to Windows Ready Print. The company believes that this name highlights its shift in strategy, which now focuses on modernizing, securing, and streamlining the printing experience for Windows devices. Some of the upgrades present in Windows Ready Print have already been seeded to customers and partners. This includes ending support for third-party printer drivers via Windows Update and transitioning towards the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) and the native Windows IPP printer driver. In line with these changes, new printer installations will default to Windows Ready Print on eligible devices starting from July 2026. However, Microsoft recognizes that not all environments will be able to migrate to this platform immediately, so it will allow users to choose between installing the printer via Windows Ready Print or the traditional OEM process. Users will be able to toggle this configuration through Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > Printer preferences. This control applies only to new printer installations, and its functionality can also be modified via Group Policy as follows: Launch Group Policy Editor Navigate to Local Computer Policy -> Administrative Templates -> Printers Find and select 'Configure Windows Ready Print driver ranking' -> double click to open it Select 'Enabled' (if you wish to enable Windows Ready Print driver selection) or 'Disabled' (if you wish to explicitly disable Windows Ready Print driver selection). Select Apply Select OK Similarly, if you set up Windows protected print mode through the same setting in Windows 11, it will also default to using Windows Ready Print exclusively. Microsoft hopes that these improvements will help eradicate dependency on OEM-specific driver installation processes and simplify printer installations. We'll likely find out more about other tangible benefits in the coming months.

    • Agreed, but now my muscle memory immediately creates a layer for each text portion, so editing is made a little easier.
    • Happy for him, it is one of the first apps I install on a new Windows machine, been using it for years!
