A note to potential mirrors, the total size of the updates directory should be less than 2MB, with the installer being less than 1MB, bandwidth is basically as much as you can offer the community. I'm still waiting for the DNS to update on the main site. Others may see it already.

I like the idea - I'll install in the morning (1:50am right now)

I'll try and help with the development.. even tho I'm allways busy.... but I'll try to find the time

btw: we need a dedicatd thread for the development and testing of this :p

edit:

any why I could get a hold ofthe source files?

what language are you using to do this? VB?

ok us know when you want mirrors and i'll set one up like i said i can offer 50gb bandwith initially and probably some more if needed

0.1.66 is available. This build is the result of alot of time spent on a stable update agent... It's fully functional. The DNS has not updated (for me, at least) yet for the main server, so you can set it to the backup server. The backup server will also be renamed to the BETA server. Setting it to the beta server will obviously get bleeding edge releases, compared to the main server that will have only the latest stable release files. Mirrors will only host the latest stable releases also, as I would not have the resources to upload to any of those. Mirrors can be set up later on through the NeoCleaner site, which is not available yet... That will come later.

Other than new users, this will be the last installer you may need to run... :) Link still on first page.

People, plz send in ur bug reports to this thread or jimbo11883[at]adelphia.net. Thanks.

Stuck with adelphia huh?

Lol. Sorry Gelob, I put the tab there but I haven't coded the add/remove programs yet. It's the next feature to be coded though. Just ignore it for now. It will load pretty fast, though.

Hehe i wasnt sure if it worked or not..Normally my windows add remove takes like 5mins to generate the list.

Anything else i can do to help besides wait for new features? hehe im so excited

If you would like, I need a list of file extensions to be used by the junk file cleaner. If anyone has good icon/graphic skills, and wants to submit icons for the app, a logo, or an image for the banner of the app (the white part on top), that would be cool. Mirroring is a great way to help, but the mirror kit isn't ready for release yet. If anyone else has any good ideas for helping get this out sooner, let me know.

0.1.0.71 (Beta) is available on auto update. I need bug testing done with auto update as well as the startup programs tab. Both of these are already be as bug free as I could possibly do on my own, but you never know what kind of bugs pop up on other user's computers.

I also need data on MRU's (Most recently used). If you have an app that saves this type of data in the registry, or any other type of data for any app that you want cleaned, send me your data.

hmm.. i could easily mirror the file for you however im unsure of the best way to ensure the file on the mirror is always up to date... Was thinking of some sort of cronjob to check with the main server...

i could setup a cronjob to redownload from the main server every X amount of hours but what would be better is if someone had a script to compare the verson on a mirror with the verson on the server and then update the mirror if neccecery.

unfortantly i have no idea on how to do that.

Edit:

with the startup list would it be possible to add an option to Disable a program running from startup but keep it in the list incase its needed later?

I think what I'll do is write a php script that compares the version list data file on my server with that of a mirror's server. If any files are newer, than it'll download them, as well as the new version list data file and the change log data file to the mirror server.

I've added disabled startup entries to my tasklist.

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
