+theblazingangel MVC Posted May 23, 2005 MVC Share Posted May 23, 2005 (edited) Latest AP XP Tweak/TweakUndo sets Released: 23-May-2005 Last release before inclusion: May 2005 Replaces sets released on 21st !! Note - The CopyToMoveTo tweak i refer to is the new fixed version that uses a dll Full Tweak/TweakUndo Packs 1) Tweaks *file removed* Using AP 5.1 May Full extract into AutoPatchers \Modules\Tweaks folder. Using any AP 5.0 release (including May Update) extract into AutoPatchers \Modules folder. 2) TweakUndos *file removed* Extract into AutoPatchers \Tools\tweakundo folder. 3) tweaks.amc If you removed the old tweaks to make way for this new set you may be missing tweaks.amc and tweaks.lst. Unfortunatley i can no longer include them in the set in order to make it compatable with AP 5.1 If you need them you can get them here: *file removed* AP 5.1 & 5.0 users should both extract these files to the \modules folder. AP 5.1 users should NOT extract to \modules\tweaks. Changes made in 20-May-2005 tweaks update 1) Ive removed the /i installation switch from the CopyToMoveTo tweak because it caused problems Thanks to Pascal for reporting it. 2) The following undo files have been fixed because they didnt remove there AutoPatcher registry detection entries correctly: - Undo_admincontrolpanel.reg - Undo_LowerNTFSChkTime.bat Changes made here 1) Previous 20-May-2005 changes included 2) IPCShareVunerability tweak fixed - 'r' missing in the file name in the installation instructions, and its registry detection changed. 3) Changed ANY_LCID to 1033 in all tweaks (except there parents), dont know why i didnt do that before. Notes Anyone using a previous tweak set other than this, the 20-May-2005 update, and the one in the Full May release can find a small list of some old files to remove in this file: *file removed* Error Resolution There was a problem with the original 20-May-2005 full set release. Anyone who used that set and gets an error should do the following. For An AP 5.0 release: Delete functionaliity.amc and functionaliity.lst (ones with two i's) from AutoPatchers \Module folder Make sure you still have the copies with one 'i' (included in this latest set). For An AP 5.1 release: Delete the same files as above but from the \Modules\Tweaks folder. Also Delete the tweaks.amc and tweaks.lst files from the same folder, but leave the ones in the \Modules folder. files removed - theblazingangel (01-Dec-2005) Edited December 1, 2005 by TheBlazingAngel Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/323630-general-latest-autopatcher-xp-tweak-sets/ Share on other sites
Ozpa
I'm not really sure what's this tweaks/tweak undo .zips but I am guessing it's a small patch for the May AP XP tweaks? I'm getting May AP XP version now and I'd like to know if I need these files you posted here. A big confusing (add explanation? :p). P.S. or are they standalone tweaks from the pack or? +theblazingangel MVC Posted June 5, 2005 Author MVC Share Posted June 5, 2005 yes, its an update pack to the tweak & tweak undo sets included in the may release. Make sure you read the 'notes' section. you may have a few obsolete files to remove afterwards! Ozpa
In notes.txt it says to delete the WinXP DNS cache reg tweak. I applied this to my system beforehand. Does this mean this tweak isn't working? +theblazingangel MVC Posted June 5, 2005 Author MVC Share Posted June 5, 2005 err, if i remember correctly, it had 'winxp' in the name, i found it worked on 2K, so i renamed it. The reason you need to delete the old copy os the new renamed copy wont replace it. i dont think there was any problem with it working though. so no need to re-run. usually if there was a problem with the tweak itself, i change the detection so it will register as uninstalled in AutoPatcher.
