Kompressor Posted June 16, 2002 Share Posted June 16, 2002 ok people i just installed this server program that makes ur home PC into a server... and it works....it seems, but i dont know how to check that it works for a site im making... like i have the "index.html" in there......the section restriced for my FTP, however i dont know.....do you have to type in my IP in the address bar or my domain name that this FTP prog. created? Hummer Posted June 16, 2002 Share Posted June 16, 2002 first off ftp's aren't meant for serving webpages to everyone. ftp is a file tranfer protocol. it's used for tranfering files.. if you want to serve webpages to people you have to use an http server like apache or iis if you want to use asp. you shoudl be using your ip to check your ftp unless you have a domain pointing to your ip Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
