/me must be colour blind ;) Oh well you can always change it yourself in style builder. Just select the element and desaturate it. :)

I think I found a bug...

Just take a look at these screenshots @ winsupersite

From build 2410:

That window status, when you can't focus the previous window without closing the focused first is missing from the visual style...

Instead it just stays like the "inactive" status...

Hope this hasn't been posted before

Cheers,

PuntoDoc.

I've never done any style building, but i've done plenty of graphics with photoshop/illustrator etc... Is there a good tutorial for style builder or should i just mess around?

I found a small bug in watercolor v4, when i open a small image file

(64x64 pixel) in photoshop. And if I move the mouse pointer to the

right border or bottom-right conner, mouse pointer didn't change and

I can't change the size of that child window. But if I change the window

size (from the other conner), the right and bottom-right become normal.

Sorry for my poor english language.. :x

Now that you mention it, I have the same thing. Always thought it was a bug with photoshop, but after switching to Luna, Classic and a few other themes...I realize it only happens with Watercolor. Hopefully Binary will solve it for us. :)

Ok, First the pinky disabled window cannot be done, the new msstyle format only allows two states, inactive and active. Second the Resize bug on small windows has plagued every watercolour type style and I have no clue why, so I havent found a fix, and dont know if it's even possible to fix.

xWeston: I dont know of any tutitorials, but it's fairly easy to figure out :)

What are the ghost pixels that you are talking about?

That bug in photoshop is weird but not all that annoying :)

BTW, Binary even though i criticize your peach color in the taskbar i really love the theme, dont think im saying its no good! :)

Yep... "photoshop" bug is little... but annoyin neither the less....

not just photoshop.... it seems any smallish size window is affected.... open Windows Explorer ....

great theme... but yeh... the default luna windows icon isn't that nice... would b nice if we could change it ...

thanks alot binary for a killa theme... =]

cant wait for 5.0 =) hehe

The "ghost" pixels are the transparent pixels above the titlebar, goes about 2 pixels up (you can only notice it on windows that are supposed to be maximized after opening a second time). If I got rid of that transparency, then the mozaic would be totally screwed, and also you'd have 2 extra pixels above the controls, which doesnt look very even imo, so I'm leaving it as is. I wish MS would have updated the code to fix all these bugs, since they know people are skinning XP with their permission or not *sigh*.

If I were a programmer I would have decompiled and fixed all these bugs long ago (yes I know that would be illegal but too bad huh? ;)). But I'm not so once again *sigh*.

Chris

binary dude.... can u plz help me find the only "bug" in wc4....

the photoshop/small window bug...

2 other ppl above found the problem....

i cant seem to fix it no matter what.... i've changed the Window Frames to match other skins, edited the graphics etc... but still to no ava...

bug: if the window is smallish... u cant resize the window thru the right or bottom or bottom/right.... only can resize thru the left or the top...

plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... i know this is a really small bug... but its annoyin like heck.... esp working with photoshop everyday... using small images....

thx in advance

I already answered that above, I too have no idea what causes this, I have tried everything aswell, but nothing has fixed it. You can just drag the other corner, not that big of a deal :) If anyone wants to help iron out the few couple remaining bugs, then I'll add you to my readme :p But seriously I can't fix it, I have tried everything I know, I've compared values to luna, and used lunas, and other themes frame files, nothing has worked.

Chris

omg... hehehe

hey i figured out EXACTLY wat was causing it.... gawd... its like 7am here in aus... haven't slept yet but so damn happy i solved it....

What i did was Transparent = false in captions...

and yeh doin that gives a 2 pixel pink image.... but after doin that it solved the resizing error...

so to fix the pink pixel problem without ruinnin the "mosiac" effect ... i openned photoshop and converted the FrameCaption.bmp file to 32bit col and resized it upabit then cropped it... then changed it back to 256colors

there's a slight slight difference, and only if i look really hard.... between windowed and fullscreen windows but definately worth it....

all thats left for me now is to change the 'start' button :)

anyone noe how to take off that ugly winxp flag??? no matter wat i do it stays there... and i cant find it in stylebuilder...

once again.... cheers to binary.... :p

oh yeh... there's also a visible difference between a max app and one thats windowed (captionbar wise)

but yeh... wat was really buggin me was movin the mouse to the left of the window... resizing it abit then runnin outta room then having to go back to the right side to resize again ehehe

oh one last thing....

if u were gonna have 2 pink pixels in the captionbar... why not just make it 18 pixel high like classic mode instead of 20 pixels ala luna...*cough*

prob due to using ms gfx is my guess yeh?

;) :p :dead:

I have done everything in order to keep the mozaic looking perfect, and the titlebar true to the original watercolour style. If you make it 18 in height, there will still be 2 pixels above the - [] X

controls, which is what I didnt want, because it looks stupid imo.

I've worked with the theme for a year, I know what can and can't be done ;) And I already knew that the transparency was causing it, but I didnt know how to fix it, I still dont know whats causing it to happen to my theme and not others, some other themes use transparency in the titlebar and the problem doesnt happen.

    • Apple has clarified Series 9 was left off the watchOS 27 compatibility list by mistake.
    • Signal accuses UK government of using child safety as cover for mass surveillance by David Uzondu Recently, the UK's Home Office announced a sweeping set of proposals to make Britain the "first country in the world" where children cannot share or view nude photos on their smart devices, an initiative that authorities claim will protect children from online predators and combat pornography. In response, Signal believes that while the government must keep children "safe" and "protected," it should do so through social services and education, not by "surveillance, funding cuts, and cover-ups." The company called the plan "dystopian" and warned that it violates everyone's fundamental right to privacy, arguing that scanning on the presumption of nudity will only strengthen the market dominance and data control of giant corporations like Apple and Google. The statement continues by accusing the government of hiding its true intentions under the guise of child safety. Signal argues that the Home Office is building an invisible surveillance infrastructure that remains ripe for exploitation by future administrations and authoritarian regimes. According to the company, this aggressive approach completely ignores the actual needs of young people, such as properly funded schools and mental health services. Tech companies like Apple and Google have a three-month window to implement these mandatory device-level filters across the United Kingdom. If these tech firms refuse to comply with the mandate, the government will pass emergency legislation to force them to comply, threatening massive fines and even going after the CEOs of these companies with criminal charges. The technology will work by blocking explicit images directly on the operating system of all smartphones and tablets by default. This system monitors the device camera and third-party apps to intercept nudity before anyone can upload or send the image. Adults can still view explicit content, but only after completing a strict age verification check to unlock their devices. Several bodies like the NSPCC and Barnardo's praised the Home Office's decision, arguing that device-level intervention stops the cycle of grooming before it starts. The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) also supported the policy, claiming that tech companies can implement on-device checks "without threatening privacy or collecting any data."
    • Did you watch the keynote? It is way beyond what is described in this article. Looks interesting. Now it is time for them to deliver unlike what happened in 24.
    • It pretty much has to be compatible with MS Office or it is going nowhere. The rest of the world runs office including Europe. If it is not compatible it will not survive.
    • Incredible deal gets you free NVMe 512GB SSD with AMD AM5 B850 motherboard for only $150 by Sayan Sen Earlier this week we covered the story of an interesting PC case wherein you can build two full-size computers inside it as in it can house and run an AMD and an Intel system simultaneously. Speaking of building PCs, these are hard times to make one for sure as prices are often very high except during flash sales or discounts. If you are in the market for a 1080p gaming PC then Nvidia's 8GB RTX 5060 Ti is currently on sale for just $330 and you get the latest James Bond game too, for free. Speaking of which, right now there is another incredible sale going on as we can get a free 512 GB NVMe SSD from TeamGroup in the form of the G50 alongside the purchase of an AMD B850 socket AM5 motherboard for only $150 (purchase link under the specs table down below). Getting an AM5 motherboard now in 2026 will be a wise investment for sure, especially since AMD confirmed its commitment to support the socket till at least 2029. The MSI PRO B850M-P WIFI is a micro-ATX motherboard that is compatible with AMD Ryzen 9000 series processors. Since it is AM5, the motherboard works with DDR5 memory and includes MSI’s Memory Boost technology, along with EXPO and XMP support. Connectivity features include built-in Wi-Fi 7 paired with a 5G LAN solution. The board offers a PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot with MSI’s EZ M.2 Shield Frozr II thermal solution, that is said to help maintain SSD performance by providing ample cooling against overheating.
