Still one bug keeping this skin away from perfection unfortunately:

watercolour.JPG

hope you can fix this binary, this has to be the best look windows has ever had, its much better than anything ever released, even by microsoft

edit: this occurs when there are too many windows open for the start bar to display, so it moves them onto two lines (yeh,i know microsoft can put them into a menu, but i like them better this way :p)

I've known about that bug since the very first version. Nobody has EVER mentioned it, in fact having that many buttons on the taskbar is very unlikely to ever happen. I think your just knitpicking now ;)

Chris

lol, i've always noticed it too, and it happens to me all the time, there are about 3 or 4 forums i browse, so when i get in from school i "shift-click" to open all the threads i want to view, i often end up with 40 or 50 open IE windows

i've just never mentioned it really, i always assumed someone else would've noticed it

sorry if you think it's nitpicking, and if you've noticed it since the beginning, i assume you can't fix it

either way, its the best, and most polished theme around

heh, i'd suggest looking into mozilla, phoenix, or opera, or even crazy browser or netcaptor. :p

really cleans that up.

i have tried opera for a few months (registered), but it seems to screw up the layout or some pages, or some aspects of pages dont work properly, so i've gone back to IE

wish there was some way to add the mouse gestures to IE

But you CAN have those mouse guestures in IE and Windows Explorer, and you can use it for other stuff too...

and customizeable for other stuff like Winamp, Mozilla, Trillian, whatever you wanna do! =)

Why dont you use that little XP feature called grouping?!?!?! ... :)

Chris

howcome the font on the start menu is different on the gray theme than on the blue theme?

edit: i mean the button... not the whole menu.

because the whole theme is *cough*ed up! thats why!!!!! I need to do a whole redo of the theme again, I just noticed that the large and extra large fonts modes got screwed up somehow too. This is what happens when you try to please everyone ;) and have 4 diff colors to do it on.

/me goes crazy :woot:   :x

claim down man,

if your 50+ you shouldnt be using watercolor therefore.. you don't need large or EXTRA large fonts come on now.

toxxic,

i've been dieing to get trillian pro.. well i have it.. whistler skin in ergonomic so it matches my watercolor desktop man post it or send me it something please! my email is [email protected] remove nospam.

New version with Tim's fix, system tray fixes, and large/extra large font fixes.

Watercolor 4.2.3

I will worry about your "bug" andrewfee, come next major release. Right now I dont think it's affecting that many people :)

Chris

Awesome. Watercolor still kicking I see. Just got back into Neowin after being idle for awhile. Been using Watercolor ever since. Good job Binary. As far as andrewfee's bug goes, I really see no need to even worry about it. Having 40-50 windows open at a time is just ridiculous.

Binary, just wondering how did you make the installer? With winrar or something else.

p.s. Watercolor is the greatest theme ever made

It's a Winrar 3.0 SFX archive.

    • Euro-Office must default to ODF to be considered "genuinely European", LibreOffice argues by David Uzondu Euro-Office is a web-based collaborative office suite that positions itself as a "European sovereign alternative" to American tech companies, backed by a coalition of developers including Nextcloud, IONOS, Abilian, BTactic, OpenProject, and, more recently, Tuta. The project officially went live a couple of days ago, but not before drawing heavy fire from LibreOffice developers, who called the marketing claim that Euro-Office represents the "first open-source office suite developed in Europe" a deceptive historical inaccuracy because projects like OpenOffice and LibreOffice existed decades earlier. Now that the project has launched, LibreOffice is back with another complaint, arguing that Euro-Office cannot consider itself "genuinely European" while it pushes proprietary Microsoft defaults on users. Euro-Office had promised to improve the OpenDocument Format (ODF) back in April, but the current release still plagues users with several technical failures. For instance, the suite lacks an admin setting to enforce ODF, and mobile editors completely block ODF saves, forcing files into Microsoft's OOXML formats. Some configurations force files into read-only mode, while editing frequently corrupts document formatting or erases data. LibreOffice thinks that merely supporting a format as an afterthought does not make you a sovereign alternative, as file formats are the battleground where" digital sovereignty is won or lost." The road to the first stable release of Euro-Office has been quite bumpy due to an aggressive public fallout with OnlyOffice, from which the coalition originally forked the project. OnlyOffice struck back by accusing the coalition of violating copyright terms under its AGPLv3 branding requirements by stripping the original branding anyway and forking the code. Getting Euro-Office up and running is a bit wonky (at least for non-technical users), as there is no direct installer to grab off the web. The easiest way we learnt is by using Docker. First, pull the official Euro-Office image from the GitHub Container Registry: docker pull ghcr.io/euro-office/documentserver:latest Then, run the container with active ports and a secure JWT token, enabling the test environment: docker run -i -t -d -p 8080:80 --restart=always -e EXAMPLE_ENABLED=true -e JWT_SECRET=my_secure_jwt_secret ghcr.io/euro-office/documentserver:latest And finally, open a web browser and go to the following address: http://localhost:8080 If you are running this on a remote server, replace localhost with your server's IP address. You will see the Euro-Office test page, where you can create new text documents, spreadsheets, or presentations directly in the browser. Image via Euro-Office Nextcloud promises that proper standalone desktop versions and mobile apps will arrive in a future release.
