Ipod Mini vs. Zen Micro

Recommended Posts

The way flash-memory is progressing it almost seems worthwile to wait for a 4-6GB flash mp3 player, because having solid-state memory eliminates the problem of skipping.  I think the biggest flash mp3 player right now is about 2GB, but not from a reputable company.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct ME if I'm wrong, but isn't Apple coming out with 2GB and 4GB versions of it's iPod Shuffle by the end of the summer (along with an 8GB iPod mini, and ditching the 4GB iPod mini)?

That's a rumor; no confirmed reports yet.

I've owned both players and there's no question in my mind, Zen is better.? Seriously dude, get the Zen Micro; it's truly a better product.? When I see people holding ipods in their hands walking down the street, I laugh to myself; what a bunch of brain washed trend ######.

If you can't back up what you like without bashing others, don't bother posting

I say ipod for a couple reasons

1) The menu system. I love it. My roomate has the zen and, imo, the menu system sucks.

2) the controls. The wheel is a wonder to use and makes movement throughout the menu system easy.

These are the two biggest selling points the ipod has to me.

You guys talk about sound quality...if you are listening to lossy codecs, there is next to zero difference. The zen may have the better sound 'stats' of the two. If you are listening to a lossless song, sure, there is a bit of difference there, but most people probably aren't listening lossless in their portable mp3 players.

Doesn't the Zen Micro and iPod mini uses practically the same menu layout (unless the ZM is customized).

Also the controls, I personally would prefer to scroll up and down when i need to scroll up and down instead of around in a circle.

This should be a poll!  Zen Micro... simply because it looks way nicer.  The iPod mini looks absolutely horrible and cheap... I'm sorry but it doesnt compare to the sexiness of the original iPod in any way!

Yeah. Only thing that's nice about the Mini is the wheel.

And that's not much.

Plus, it doesn't fit in a padded Altoids tin =)

Hi there,

Just thought I'd chuck my 2 cents in.

Fiddled briefly with the pair of them, for my money the ZM wins hands down.

Ordering one real soon :)

Just thought I'd point out that which nobody else has:

Steve Jobs is EVIL. We must stop giving him money!

:)
