adrianarrakis
I want to know if there is a way to change the Win98 logo which is embeded in IO.SYS or if there is a way for a sistem to read a different win98 logo from the one in IO.SYS . I work at a refurbished computer center and after we format the sistems we leave them with only the system files .. and i would like that instead of win98 logo to embed my company logo ... I would appriciate any help .. i know it can be done .. i`ve seen this elsewhere also ... Wilhelmus
Found this: http://members.fortunecity.com/shetzl/wn95logo.htmlHow to change the logo: Maybe you want to restore the original logo later, so make a backup of the logo.sys-file. Then you will have to create a bitmap with the format 320x400x256. Note that the bitmap must be exactly this format to be displayed. - An alternative to creating your own bitmap is to go to the XrX Animated Logo Collection. There are a lot of logos to download for free. - Then you save the bitmap you have created/downloaded as "c:\logo.sys". When you now reboot the system, your logo is displayed instead of the default logo. adrianarrakis
That logo.sys workaround is not what i want .. becouse i don`t install any windows OS on those refurbished PC`s that we sell. We only format them and then we put the minimum system files on the harddrive (command.com, config.sys, autoexec.bat, readme.com and IO.sys). So i need another workaround ... Grayeyes
If only command.com, config.sys, autoexec.bat, readme.com, and io.sys are on the hard drive, you don't have Windows, therefore, you don't have a Windows boot screen. Of course, you also don't have msdos.sys, which is the third system file, so I'm surprised that your customers get anything when they turn on their system, let alone a Windows boot screen on a computer without Windows!
