^ microsoft release updates monthly, and we release a new version as soon as we can after they release them.

you can find the date of microsofts next scheduled release here: www.microsoft.com/technet/security/current.aspx

unfortuntely though, i think raptors decided to skip the august release because were not yet sure what were going to do about WGA.

First of all, THANKS for all thos involved in putting Autopatcher together! It's a great product and quite a timesaver!

I am having a small problem with the July Autopatcher that I haven't had with any previous version I've tried. I did a full format and install of Xp, then installed Autopatcher. The problem is I can't get my computer to auto login. I've tried the "control userpasswords2" method and the "tweakui" method, and neither will allow me to auto login.

I last did a full install with the April Autopatcher and had no problems with my login.

Any suggestions??

Thanks!

spmccord check your user accounts to see if a user has been added .

There are 3 users....Administrator, ASP.NET (part of Microsoft .NET Framework), and my own account.

I even tried the registry work-around suggested by Microsoft (HERE)

I think the best approach is to offer 2 solutions......

The first is for users that desire WGA "add on" updates that include security patches.

The second is "Security Patches and Non WGA updates"

Microsoft has made a point that it will continue to offer to "all", security patches. They have to pirated or not. They offered such a weak operating sytem and they know that if they eliminated all security patches, regardless of legit versions or not, they could make the internet a very dagerous place with their junk software.

WGA (Windows Garbage Again)........

Keep up the good work and keep it open for all..... Choice is what I say.... the choice to choose WGA or not.

I guess I'll have to re-format my PC without APXP August... :(

Hello everyone just a quick one,

My Network has stop in one direction, Since installing Autopatcher I cant browse the machine I installed autopatch on (using explorer) but I can browser the PC drives from the Autopatched machine to others on the network.

In other words I can browser there files and they are locked out on my files. How do I let them back in to see my drives/PC?

Error is "You do not have persmission to use the network resources...."

Thanks

Bourdo

^ Until we decide upon the WGA issue, we can only provide the module configuration files, and point you to microsoft.com to get the administrative hotfixes. Providing you follow the instructions, you will have working, official, modules. I know it's a little annoying, but it's the best we can do at the moment.

    • What they really need to do is automatically spell "loses" and "lose" correctly since nobody seems to know how to anymore. Then they blame spellcheck/autocomplete and don't realize autocomplete is just filling in the word for them automatically so it was misspelled in the first place.
    • If someone chooses to continue using SB and therefore goes through the manual intervention in the thread, afterwards the BSOD problem is gone. Whether they then re-enable the task doesn't matter, they're done, though on such machines it might pay to keep it disabled in case the next update (if there is a next) causes the same problem. OTOH, if someone disables SB in the BIOS, the problem is also gone. Incidentally, I noticed that this task exists even on machines that don't support SB. It's just installed across the board...and runs. Doing what on such machines is a little hazy.
