That is not the point. The padding on the left creates the feeling for the user that you  can't click there....

But I'm not going to get into this, because it is of no use...

I don't want to be picky (if you dont like the button-padding, it probably REALLY doesnt fit your taste or preference, so I'm not going to argue about personal preference or whatever ;) ), but with my post I just wanted to add that I have absouletely no problem with the start button in it's current state and that I like the look. I really didn't mean to be nasty or whatever, if you know what I mean ;)

Anyway, this is nothing anybody should argue about so seriously .. thx to all skinners and visual theme authors for their hardwork.. may it be b0se, schmoove or anyone! :fun:

PS: please ignore any (spelling) mistakes, I had some beers before... yikes! :pinch:

Why maximize/minimize/close buttons are too small? Man, just increase it. Or talk about a way that how I can make it.

If you want large tonka-toy caption buttons look elsewhere.

Having said that, I'm looking into the caption bar, as the mis-aligned system window captions are getting to me. I may increase the button size by 1pixel each side (2 pixels higher in total, obviously) if I can fix them. The current implementation means I am resticted in button size.

I second that, they are a little on the small side.

I didnt like some of the "I design corporate interfaces" attitudes going on a little earlier in this thread. Interfaces are designed for users, and no amount of tricks aimed at peripheral vision or experience and "skills" are substitute for what the users think. I think designers need to take feedback or requests for changes with a pinch of salt too, after all if you ask for opinions you will get them. :)

i'll talk about it...

Get a copy of stylebuilder, load up the style and spend hundreds of hours figuring it out.. and hurry.. ill give you part two when your done.

I'll take some fries plz b0se.

I'm glad to see b0se finally take a stand. This theme is very professional in design and the padding is definitely essential to complete the feel. I can't wait til this goes final and the other color variations are released. This is going to be the next Codename: Opus and, by that, I mean it's going to have many people like me stuck on using it for over a year.

I don't think you thought that out to be honest. Where/how do you think the techniques ('tricks' as you called them) came from? Made up? User feedback over years... :?)

I'll take some fries plz b0se.

Thats why I retired themeing :p

so true sanctified. What it boils down to is he is making this theme for himself and he is kind enough to share it with everyone as well as consider some of the feedback as well as take bug reports in order to have this theme be as usable as it can.

I can't wait for the final, and I hope to see a WB port with all the extras as well as a trillian theme.

I mean. I really feel you. You cant please everyone yet everyone will complain about that.

Tell me about it! Please a group, get stick from another as a result :?)

There is a line when it comes to updating from user requests, which I've just passed. Not even sure if I like the new slightly larger caption buttons. What you think?

Thats cool. I also still think you should consider bringing the start button over to the left some more, perhaps a hint of a different colour would draw the users too it, could be substyle?. As others have said though, its your theme so do it your way. Ive just been saying what I would like to see.:pp

    • Microsoft wants to end printer driver headaches with Windows Ready Print by Usama Jawad A few days ago, Microsoft released Windows 11 Experimental build 26300.8553, bringing a ton of enhancements such as Start menu customization, search improvements, Taskbar polish, and other minor UI tweaks. Another relatively major enhancement snuck deep within the change log was related to upgrades to the Windows printing experience. Now, Microsoft has shared more details about these benefits. For starters, Microsoft has renamed its Modern Print Platform to Windows Ready Print. The company believes that this name highlights its shift in strategy, which now focuses on modernizing, securing, and streamlining the printing experience for Windows devices. Some of the upgrades present in Windows Ready Print have already been seeded to customers and partners. This includes ending support for third-party printer drivers via Windows Update and transitioning towards the Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) and the native Windows IPP printer driver. In line with these changes, new printer installations will default to Windows Ready Print on eligible devices starting from July 2026. However, Microsoft recognizes that not all environments will be able to migrate to this platform immediately, so it will allow users to choose between installing the printer via Windows Ready Print or the traditional OEM process. Users will be able to toggle this configuration through Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners > Printer preferences. This control applies only to new printer installations, and its functionality can also be modified via Group Policy as follows: Launch Group Policy Editor Navigate to Local Computer Policy -> Administrative Templates -> Printers Find and select 'Configure Windows Ready Print driver ranking' -> double click to open it Select 'Enabled' (if you wish to enable Windows Ready Print driver selection) or 'Disabled' (if you wish to explicitly disable Windows Ready Print driver selection). Select Apply Select OK Similarly, if you set up Windows protected print mode through the same setting in Windows 11, it will also default to using Windows Ready Print exclusively. Microsoft hopes that these improvements will help eradicate dependency on OEM-specific driver installation processes and simplify printer installations. We'll likely find out more about other tangible benefits in the coming months.
    • Hey what's about the proton vpn firefox extension ? It's not working today
    • On what though? Not Ray Tracing.
    • Agreed, but now my muscle memory immediately creates a layer for each text portion, so editing is made a little easier.
    • Happy for him, it is one of the first apps I install on a new Windows machine, been using it for years!
