stncttr908 Veteran Posted July 13, 2005 Veteran Share Posted July 13, 2005 I updated to 1.0.5 earlier today, and much to my chagrin, middle mouse clicking certain instances does not open up a new tab. I can't figure out for the life of me why this is happening. If I middle click my buttons, such as home, back, forward, etc., it still opens in a new tab, but if I click any links that are images, or links to a url with variables, such as "index.php?variable=whatever" it doesn't work either. Links to PDF files no longer open in new tabs upon middle clicking either. This is quite frustrating. Has anyone else had this problem?
fels
Hasn't hapened to me at all. Did the update do anything strange that you noticed?
stncttr908 Veteran Posted July 13, 2005 Author Veteran Share Posted July 13, 2005 Well it appears that it doesn't happen when I create a new profile. I haven't installed any new extensions either. Strange indeed.
Smitjel
No! This sucks. I was so used to doing this. Did anyone find where they changed this or something? Test case: see if you can middle click these gallery sites. http://drupal.org/handbook/drupal/gallery Edit: Well, I think I just figured it out. You can't middle click off of image links, only text links. That really sucks...wish I had known before I updated. :pinch:

vertigosity
Interesting... I had this problem with some of the 1.0.5 RC/alpha builds, but not in the release build.

zhangm Supervisor Posted July 16, 2005 Supervisor Share Posted July 16, 2005 In Deer Park builds, Tab Mix 0.2.3 Plus causes this problem when the "Force Links with Target Attribute" option is checked.
Starforge
For 1.0.5 tabbed browser extensions causes right-click / open in new tab / open in new window to not work. The best thing is to disable that extension and use the latest 'Tab Mix' instead. This is only an issue with 1.0.5 and the current tabbed browser extensions. For some reason, the devs decided to change how Firefox handles those specific links. Bugger for Firefox though. Its a very community oriented project, so you have thousands of people running nightly builds. I think we all have to applaud all those extension developers who keep up with the sometimes day-to-day changes in the code just to keep the testing community happily chugging along with their myriad of extensions.
Smitjel
Well, it's definitely an extension problem. I had Single Window installed. I removed it and now middle clicks work fine. I hope Aaron finds out the problem...love that extension. (Y) He knows about it though.
gur713
i think i have fixed the singlewindow problem, for those that want to test it out you can grab it from http://tmp.gary.elixant.com/singlewindow.xpi
