OrangeSoul
IOC Demands were: 1) Play the best US players and not amatures 2) Stricter Doping Tests Bud Selig Rejected the above 2: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-s...ov=ap&type=lgns Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/343618-selig-will-not-bow-to-ioc-demands/ Share on other sites
davemania
I agree with Selig on the first point. Stopping the MLB midway through the season would harm MLB rather than promote it. Baseball was never a popular olympic sport, I dont think it really mattered if it was dropped Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/343618-selig-will-not-bow-to-ioc-demands/#findComment-586206385 Share on other sites
huggybear102
Baseball is not as important a part of the summer games as hockey is to the winter games. Stopping it would kill all momentum here, not to mention risk of injuries. And you think Steinbrenner is angry when his team is healthy and loses, wait until A-Rod blows out a knee in the Olympics.
