The Haunted's new album is the first I've ever heard by them and I am very impressed. I've listened to it about three times through now. 2006 has been a great year for metal albums, it seems like each month has had a great release, I've yet to be disappointed. But I feel it coming when the new Trivium album comes out, going from what I've heard so far, Detonation and Anthem (We Are The Fire). Really bad songs, especially Anthem (We Are The Fire).

So many good albums this year!

Lamb of god, Slayer, Maiden, In Flames, SiKth. New Motorhead wooooot!

Thanks for the news of a new BLS Album Orange dude.

No problem

Lamb Of God went to 6th spot on billboard. People are starting to buy metal albums again :D

Trivium - Metallica cover band :p I know it's said so many times but they are. Never liked them

Some of the new Trivium songs are really poor. They are horrible. There is only enough room in the world for one Metallica.

The Metallica comparisons are getting old. In my opinion, the new Trivium songs are nothing like Metallica. And what exactly makes their new songs horrible?

I'd suggest you check out The Haunted 2nd & 3rd CD's Haunted Made Me Do It, & One Kill Wonder.

Those two are my personal favz.

Of the songs they released on their Myspace, Entrance of the Conflagration is the only one I've actually like so far. IMO, this album won't hold a flame to their last one. They built this album up too much and it seems like they are just gonna dissappoint a lot of fans.

Anyways, I checked out Anata, and they are pretty damn good. I started listening to The Black Dahlia Murder (a lot), and also Misericordiam. While some of their song titles seem untasteful I've yet to find a song I didn't like. Gonna relisten to Deicide and see if my ears have opened up more to them. Other than that this week has been a great one for me and music. Nothing but good tunes seem to be coming my way.

I still can't get into Opeth, maybe i'm just not into progressive music :p

I like them for the most part. My favorite is still My Arms Your Hearse. Which is the least like any of their others. Much more Black Metal influence. I doubt they'll ever come close to that album again. But I always tell people to start with that one.

I have the same problem with Opeth. I mainy don't like the guys voice, other than that their music is pretty good. Going to see All That Remains tonight, than As Blood Runs Black on Friday, and finally Lamb Of God on Monday.

Jealous. :pinch:

Last week I got the new I Killed The Prom Queen album Music for the Recently Deceased and it is sweeeeet. For those who don't know IKTPQ, they are a band from Adelaide, Australia. Some people would call their music metal some whould call it metalcore and others would say they are a hardcore band, me personally think that they are a metal band with hardcore roots/background. Their third studio album Music for the Recently Deceased was just realiased in Aust and should be out in other countries soon. So check them out on MySpace and their offical website if you wanna here some good Australian metal.

Also has anyone heard the new Hatebreed album?

Theyre coming to my small town Whyalla in october i belive just after my birthday, theyre pretty awesome with the new singer

I just got back from the Lamb Of God show with Opeth and Sanctity. Absolutely amazing. You can check out my blog about it here Last.fm Journal

Nice sounds like you had a great time, can't wait to see LOG in november :D

Intronaut are pretty cool, I like them, their debut album has not long come out hasn't it?

I believe it is out now. It's very good.

Yeah it's kinda weird for me listening to Opeth. It's like all drama and no action. Stoner metal.

Check out Opeth's My Arms Your Hearse. Not like that at all.

Opeth is stoner metal? I had a hunch they were say progressive melodic death :)...

what has happened to this world :p

Metalcore is whats happened

    • Anthropic accuses Alibaba of using 25,000 fake accounts to copy Claude's capabilities by Karthik Mudaliar Anthropic has accused Alibaba of using nearly 25,000 fraudulent accounts to extract capabilities from Claude on a huge scale. According to a report from Reuters, Anthropic told US lawmakers that operators linked to Alibaba and the company’s Qwen AI team generated 28.8 million exchanges with Claude between April 22 and June 5, 2026. That is a lot of Claude conversations, but Anthropic says this was not ordinary chatbot use. The company believes the accounts were part of a coordinated effort to collect answers that could help train or improve rival AI systems. The alleged campaign reportedly focused on some of Claude’s most valuable skills, including software development, multi-step reasoning, and agentic tasks. In practical terms, that means getting an AI model to plan and complete work across several stages rather than simply answering a single question. This is called 'distillation,' where AI companies use outputs from a larger model to train a smaller and cheaper one. The smaller model learns to imitate useful parts of the more capable system without needing the same amount of computing power. The distillation process isn't automatically suspicious, but the problem comes when one company gathers another provider's outputs without permission and at an industrial scale. Also, this does not mean Alibaba obtained Claude’s source code, model weights, or original training data. Instead, Anthropic claims the accounts repeatedly asked Claude carefully designed questions and collected the answers. Those answers could then be used as training material for another model. Anthropic has made similar accusations against DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, and MiniMax earlier this year. As Neowin previously reported, Anthropic said those three companies collectively generated more than 16 million Claude exchanges through roughly 24,000 accounts. Anthropic says the new campaign produced almost twice as many exchanges in a matter of weeks. Anthropic reportedly told lawmakers that the campaign could help Chinese AI developers approach the capabilities of its Mythos Preview model. Mythos is focused on advanced cybersecurity work, including finding and exploiting complex software vulnerabilities. via Reuters | Photo via DepositPhotos.com

    • I don't think it was ever a big question. In fact, I don't think anyone ever asked about how clocks work on Mars.
    • I don't know what the price difference is between a 5GbE and a 10GbE part, but it seems that putting a 10GbE port in might be a bit more 'standard'.
