You know I really enjoyed Burn My Eyes thanks to their drummer Chris Kontos. But I said weird cause the sang parts maybe, don't very like them. Rob, double kick, loud guitars are here for sure, The Blackening is worked and the band evolved since their debuts but something wrong IMO. It's not as violent as I was hoping.

Hey fellas...

New Pagan's Mind is a bit of a letdown, but new Benighted delivers.

Let's all hope the members of Decapitated pull through, but reports are that Vitek is in a coma with no signs of improvement after this week's tour bush crash.

Actually Decapitated signed with Nuclear Blast a week or so after Vitek's death so it appears they're going to forge ahead in his memory. We'll see if Covan makes a recovery. Apparently he is doing better.

The new Severe Torture is a good spin. Aside from that I've discovered bands like Vomitron (one man project out of Massachusetts) and rediscovered old favorites like Quo Vadis and Martyr. I'll tell you, the Montreal metal scene is one of the best in the world.

I saw Lamb of God and Killswitch Engage last night. It was a sweet show. The only thing was the lights went off during Lamb of God and they stopped playing in the middle of the song and waited to try to get them fixed. They said they weren't going to come back on any time soon so they continued to play with just the house lights and no spots. They were still amazing but it would have been cooler with the lights on.

Heaven Shall Burn album- Iconoclast is great! amazing album! loving it :D

Na i meant for gays lol. Emo is rubbish and shouldnt be mixed with metal at all. :p

Zomfg! I'm listening to alot of Coheed & Cambria, InMe and Paramore atm.

I'm expanding into electronic and more poppy/emo rock music from my metal roots.

I can't wait for Slayer's next album, which I read is to be their LAST! :o

Also Bodom's new album sounds to be quite good with Tie My Rope being kick-ass, although I've gone off the band quite a bit now.

This month, Alestorm's new album "Captain Morgan's Revenge" is out, and I suggest all folk/battle metal fans out there grab a copy.

I heard Burn My Eyes all the way through for the first time today, ****ing, why didn't I sooner! XD - MH FTW.

Damm been ages since last updated this topic, need it at the top guys :D Anyways what albums are everyone looking forward to this year?

To name a couple i'm looking forward to right off the top of my head:

Mercenary's new one titled "Architect of Lies". Since they're one of my favorites.

I'm also eager to hear Kalmah's new stuff that they've been recording recently.

Also Bodom's new album sounds to be quite good with Tie My Rope being kick-ass, although I've gone off the band quite a bit now.

Eh. That song isn't very good in my opinion.

Pssh. Alestorm is PIRATE METAL. Get it right.

Lol. XP

Seeing as how Kamelot, Behemoth, and Dimmu Borgir had all had recent releases, I can't think of anything I'm really anticipating as of now.

I'm waiting to see if Mushroomhead and Slipknot are going to release anything, though.

Ididn't even know Meshuggah was coming out with a new album. Definitely looking forward to that. Also the new Protest the Hero sounds promising. And I'm gonna have to say Metallica's new album, as bad as these guys were on their last effort I still hold a place in my heart for them. Oh, and I'm looking forward to some release by Misery Signals.

I'm waiting to see if Mushroomhead and Slipknot are going to release anything, though.

rumor has it Slipknot is currently working on a new album to be released late spring or early summer. that excites me :D

I have a coworker who is friends w/ mushroomhead. i'll ask her if theyre recording or something.

Therion needs to release their next album. Or someone needs to invent a time machine.

I remember hearing (I think it was on Wikipedia) that Johnsson said the next album will follow in the style of Gothic Kabbalah's finale track "Adulruna Rediviva."

I know better than to think they're releasing a whole album full of 14-minute epics of awesomeness, but still...DO WANT.

    • Meta launches new AI glasses in 26 styles and Muse Spark multimodal capabilties by Pradeep Viswanathan Meta today announced a new line of Meta Glasses in partnership with EssilorLuxottica. The new AI glasses build on the company’s existing smart glasses portfolio, which is sold under the Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta brands. The new Meta Glasses start at just $299, are compatible with prescription lenses, and will be available in 26 styles across different colors, lenses, and frames. At launch, Meta Glasses will be available in three frame styles. The Meta Adventurer features a clean rectangular design and comes in Standard and Large sizes. The Meta Fury is a bolder frame for users who want a stronger look. Meta Glasses by Kylie is a slim oval frame designed in collaboration with Kylie Jenner. Similar to existing Meta AI Glasses, the new Meta Glasses include a dedicated action button that can be used to quickly access Meta AI or launch a favorite feature. They also feature open-ear speakers for calls, music, and more. Meta has also included a multi-mic array with wind noise reduction for calls and messaging. Users can capture photos and videos hands-free using voice commands. Meta claims more than eight hours of battery life, while the portable charging case can provide up to 40 additional hours. As expected, Meta Glasses come pre-loaded with Meta AI powered by Muse Spark from day one. Muse Spark is the first model from Meta Superintelligence Labs with improved multimodal capabilities. The same Meta AI upgrade is also now available on existing Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta Glasses in the US and Canada via an update. With the Muse Spark-powered AI assistant, Meta AI in the new glasses can provide smarter answers, understand what the user is seeing, and help with daily tasks such as calendar management and navigation. Meta also announced an upcoming feature called the dynamic photo feature, which captures multiple frames and recommends the best one. Pedestrian navigation is also coming soon to these glasses. Meta is also adding support for 14 new live translation languages, including Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, and Korean. The new Meta Glasses are available starting today through Meta.com, Best Buy, Amazon, LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut, and select retailers.
    • is that a personal preference? whether it is or isn't, i get where you're coming from. i try to get and use fully open sourced applications whenever i can but there are instances where i find a superior product that is closed sourced. in these cases i do my best to learn about the company, who operates it, their background, parent and sub structure etc. to some extent, depending on "the smell test". i really believe that Syncback is really and truly something great. even if you don't use it, it's always worth a recommendation to someone else, especially if that someone else is not very computer literate. for someone of your calibre you, you'll manage just fine with Syncthing, no doubt about it.
    • I agree, especially if it is cloud sourced, like this one is.. but I wouldn't say no to a local AI assistant similar to the Zettlab one which would be really helpful with my large Photos library, but also to perform tasks like installing Docker apps rather than me having to do it via Docker Compose, but I don't think we're quite there yet. Synology Photos is somewhat AI, you can ask it to search for certain people (if you have tagged them and it will attempt to match similar photos to the person) and if you put a search term in for "cars" for example, it will show you all photos with a car.
