Hi Kol... just wanted to say thanks for the excellent theme... so easy on the eyes.

I have one slight niggle and wondered if you could give some advice.... This is gonna sound odd but I always like to have IE6 full screen when browsing, BUT I prefer to drag the window to fit the screen (so you can still see the rounded corners) as opposed to just using the maximize button (where you lose the corners)... I'm odd I know. I've noticed when using this theme that even though its posibble to drag out IE to fit the screen perfectly when you close the window then reopen IE it doesn't quite fit leaving a small gap along the top.... I know this is hardly important but just wondered if there was a way to fix it....

Either way, thanks again for all the work.... I'll be sticking with this theme for the foresseable future...

kol, if you didnt see my last post im still experiencing a few bugs.

bug16mu.jpg

this being when you right click and view the context menu, the icons have some sort of an opaque overlay on them.

About the photoshop bugs, I cant do anything about them. I posted why before.

The icon thing happens becasue of the color of the selection. If you dont like it you can go to appearance tab > advanced button and change the selection color.

Hi KoL

I`ve tested the update and noticed some things:

1. Look at the screenshot: Can you also lighten up the lowered border from the captionbuttons in disabled windows (not only the disabled buttons) to keep the line consistant ?

2. Nice new vista startbutton flag. Could the lower the flag and the text by one pixel to keep it centered? (I`ve compared the new and the old button and the flat ant text in the new button is one pixel higher than in the old one).

3. What about the original taskbar grippers from Vista Beta 1. Wasn`t it possible to include them inthis theme?

Sorry I was going to reply to your PM but I forgot :pinch:

1- If I update the theme again I'l fix that.

2- I moved the text because I think it was to low in the original button. The flag is in the same position but I think a pix lower will look good.

3- Im going to keep this grippers :D

I dont have that problem with IE 7 beta one.... no matter how much i resize and alter the window there is now problems. Must be a problem with ur setup? And remember...... its still in BETA and u cant expect Kol to hunt down all the bugs for a current BETA release and then have to chnage them all when the program is updated to a higher build.

No it is not a problem with my setup, it doesn't happen with other themes only this one. I would suggest you just haven't encountered it yet, it doesn't always happen. I am using a dual monitor setup, might be different to you.

Kol won't fix it, but at least I can warn others by pointing it out.

Oh yes, please, bring back the white flag! In such a grayscale style, a white flag fits in much better...

But, for now, I'll have to stick to WB version 1.5: I like black style because it's... erm... black, but in v2 it became almost as gray as Noire by Pixtudio...

Anyway, that's my VS for the moment - at least until WindowBlinds 5

Actually I think it is a problem with your setup because I use Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1 also and I don't see what you're talking about.

Don't turn this into anything more than what it is. If KoL can't fix it then he can't fix it. Don't make it out that he's not fixing it just to be a jerk or something because he's not. Either he can't fix it or it's something he doesn't want to change because he likes how it looks.

I mean if you don't like it then just don't use it or wait and see if he actually fixes it before you go and say "at least I can warn others by pointing it out". Jesus...you make it sound as if the world will end if it can't be fixed

Firefox: I dont know why it happens but I think I cant do anything about it.

IE 7: I dont use IE 7 plus its a beta and some people dont have problems. I really cant do anything about that either. :/

the icons still have an overlay on them though, even when they are not selected.

take a look at the non selected icons... the colors are messed up.

here is a screen shot of the default windows theme compared to yours.

and in vistaxp

bug16mu.jpg

see how there is some sort of an overlay on the icons and the colors are messed up?

vistaxp is the only style this happens to me in. they appear normal in all other themes.

lmfao... almost 50 pages.

you guys are working KoL to the bone!

I know right lol

Man, does it really matter if those icons have an overlay on em?

And for those asking for a thin bar, I think Kol already made it clear he won't make one. :)

It can't be perfect you know.

He makes it perfect the way he wants it be perfect. ;)

A bit late but I couldn't access this thread today, idk why.

Anyways, heres the bmp to the round button. ;)

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.

    • VidCoder 12.20 by Razvan Serea VidCoder is a DVD/Blu-ray ripping and video transcoding application for Windows. It uses HandBrake as its encoding engine. Calling directly into the HandBrake library gives it a more rich UI than the official HandBrake Windows GUI. VidCoder can rip DVDs but does not defeat the CSS encryption found in most commercial DVDs. You’ll need the NET 8 Desktop Runtime. If you don’t have it, VidCoder will prompt you to download and install it. The Portable version is self-contained and does not require any .NET Runtime to be installed. You do not need to install HandBrake for VidCoder to work. Feature list: Multi-threaded MP4, MKV containers Completely integrated encoding pipeline: everything is in one process and no huge intermediate temporary files H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VP8, Theora video Hardware-accelerated encoding with AMD VCE, Nvidia NVENC and Intel QuickSync AAC, MP3, Vorbis, AC3, FLAC audio encoding and AAC/AC3/MP3/DTS/DTS-HD passthrough Target bitrate, size or quality for video 2-pass encoding Decomb, detelecine, deinterlace, rotate, reflect, chroma smooth, colorspace filters Powerful batch encoding with simultaneous encodes Customizable Pickers to automatically pick audio and subtitle tracks, destination, titles and more Instant source previews Creates small encoded preview clips Pause, resume encoding VidCoder 12.20 changes: Updated HandBrake core to 1.11.2.
