How do you guys get the OSX-ish drop shadows? Does that only come with xorg cvs's composite extensions turned on?

The shadows are done by E, are very customizable and controlled through the menu, and are not a part of xorg :cool:

I guess your Eclair is broken? It plays videos/dvd's with E's Emotion.

Nah, it works fine.

At the time of the screenshot, I needed an lirc-capable app (mplayer) in order to use the remote control.

How did you get the transperancy stable?

I use Suse 9.3, and X crahes random. :angry:

The only transparency I use is on the terminal, which is a standard issue feature on Gnome Terminal. It's not true transparency and only shows the background, try right clicking on a terminal and editing the profile, there should be a transprency option in there somewhere.

gtk theme: milk (doesn't really fit the e17 theme but I don't feel like changing it right now)

How usable is it? I tried some months ago (ok, maybe even a year or so) and it was horribly broken. Has it improved in terms of usability and configuration?

Quite usable. The only problem I have with the version I'm using now (one month old or so) is that it sometimes segfaults, but it doesn't bother me that much as I just have to click on "restart" for it to be up and running again, with running apps remaining unaffected. Feels more like a random dialog poping up rather than an actual segfault.
