Hi, I have just gotten the ISO for Vista (64bit), However, When It boots from the DVD, I get the following Error :- The Black Screen with "Windows is Loading Files" is displayed with a white percentage bar, then I get the following Error :- "Windows Boot Error - Windows Boot Manager has experienced an problem - Status:0xc00000e9 - Info:An unexpected error occurred"

When I setup From XP, I get a Hal.dll missing error when I enter the "xp" boot menu.

Please can someone Help me ?

Thank You

No, The burn is fine, Its the same for the 32 bit as it is for the 64 bit versions.

Heres my specs : AMD64 3200+

Asrock K8Upgrade-1689

1x SATA HD

2x IDE HD

NVIDIA Geforce FX 5700SE

1Gig RAM

I have disabled my IDE and tried that and also Disabled the SATA and just tried the IDE, but get the same results.

UPDATE:- I have tried both 32+64bit versions with BOTH my hd`s disabled and get the same error, However, I have managed to get to the "instalation" screen with the 32bit version via VirtualPC.

So now I know its not a bad dvd, I am asuming that either VISTA bootloader does not like my bios (2Mb AMI BIOS with ACPI, SM BIOS 3.0, PnP - Latest Firmware) , or does not like the the layout of my disks (I have tryed every possible combination of enabeling and disabling of the hard disks)

Hope this extra info will help someone help me to resolve it ...

Thanks again

yeah it is obvious now that you did not obtain Vista through legal channels, otherwise you would have no need to burn.  If you need support, and you truly have a right to use the product, use the support channels through microsoft.

Whether or not he illegally obtained it. Why does it matter, it's still a legitimate problem :s.

What you're saying is silly... Let's expand... Probably half the members who have questions about problems with windows xp shouldn't be allowed to ask since they're running illegal copies of Window XP?

*Note i assume that number, just like you assume he has an illegal copy.*

I could see the instance where he may be unable to connect with connect. Or he has slow internet ask so obtained a dvd...

Some people seem to be more worried about other people products legalization then the problem itself, why does it bother you so much anyway? You know very well that its not easy to become a beta tester, and if I want to try it and test it, I will and I won't really care till the final product. Its not you or people that argue with this stuff that will stop it.

And why if it was legal you wouldn't have to burn it?

have you got your dvd rom set as your first boot device, if not try that it worked for me for me. for some reason it wouldnt boot if i pushed f8 while the comp was booting up and i chose to boot from dvd so i went to bios setup and made the dvd first boot device and it worked :s

I had this problem on XP, it was because the boot information was not on the right partition...

So if you have two hard drives and you installed it on the one that wasn't C: then there will be no boot information on C: that allows you to get to the operating system on drive D for example.

If you have 2 drives and you have it on the second 1 remove it and then it should boot to the right one, once thats sorted you can put the other one back in.

I may be totally wrong but i remember doing something like that when i saw hal.dll.

When you signed up for the BETA, Microsoft would of sent you an email to send bugs/problems to.

I would be sending the problem to that email, and let a Microsoft professional help you.

I haven't received any at all, I signed up about 3 years ago for beta testing and re-tried several times, but no sucess :( Anyway, I'm with Ashl on this one, I had the same problem.

Right .. I have tried what SeMz suggested and still had no luck. Here is a more detailed breakdown of my HD setup :-

200Gig SATA HD (set as RAID) on a ALI Chipset

1x160Gig IDE set as Primary Master

1x120Gig IDE Set as Primary Slave

1x DVDrw Set as Secondary Master

1xDVDRAM set as Secondary Slave.

I have tried all the possible combinations ie. SATA enabled & IDE Disabled , SATA Disabled & IDE Enabled.

If I boot WITHOUT a DVD/CD in the DVD drive with the SATA DISABLED, I get an NTDL? missing file error. If I boot With ALL Enabled, XP loads.

I am assuming the I have erounious boot entries on my IDE drives, as when all are enabled but IDE is set as the FIRST boot device, the NTDL? error page is displayed.

Anyhow, I tried installing Vista via XP, whi8ch went fine untill the first reboot , I was presented with two boot options, Vista setup or XP. If I choose Vista I get the 0xc00000e9 boot manager error however, if I choose XP, I am presented with another two options, XP and Vista. Choosing Vista then leaves me with an Hal.dll Missing error where as the XP option loads fine.

I formated my SATA, Partitioned it in two, formated both to ntfs, Installed XP (LEGAL), and then tried booting from the VISTA DVD but still get the exact same error.

I had the same problem. Here is what i did to solve it after two long nights and days of agony and 50 different ways of installing :

1)Booted from XP CD and went to Recovery Console (i had XP installed)

2)Started diskpart and deleted all partitions

3)Created two new partitions but didn't format them with diskpart

4)Restarted and booted from DVD

5)Installed on first partition

6)Rebooted

7)Still enjoyning :)

Hope this helps.

Cheers

File a bug report with MS, check the newsgroups (BetaNews.microsot.com), and verify your hardware is on the HAL.

If you are unable to do this, then why the hell are you being a betaboy?

And yes, if you are not running the product legal, then you are basically on your own, wither you like it or not. You don't have the right to run the software, without the software creator's permission, this is plan an simple.

Just because they are not charging for it at this time, doesn't mean you have the right to pirate the software.

You DO realise that official beta testers have to download and burn the ISO's aswell. Your accusation actually has no grounds - maybe you should know what your talking about before jumping to conclusions.

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
