Presenting the new Neowin Logo

Recommended Posts

I myself am not very impressed with the new logo, and to be honest, if that's the direction the whole site is going to go...I'm worried.

It really reminds me, as others have said, of when the bevel filter was invented and EVERYTHING was beveled (hell, when I started using PS many years back I beverled everything too, it's an easy thing to get lost in)...the whole thing really screams noob photoshop skills (not to be offensive...thats just how it looks to me, nor do I think I have 1337 skillz in PS either....but this would not be my final product).

I would have expected something a lot cleaner than this, as this is very fuzzy overall and lacks an amount of overall tightness that you see in designs these days.

I think it's on the right track...just not finished. Keep working, you'll get it.

Neowin rules, and I've been here for a while now...I just want to see it get better, not worse.

I was very skeptical about the logo, but after getting a very small peak at what's to come and how it fits in, I can assure you this logo is perfect for the job. Neowin's about to get even sexier.

Uhh... I already pop boners over NeoWin.

How much sexier can it get?? (tosses Vigra bottle out window) ..

As I said earlier in this thread, I don't know why people are getting all excited/worked up about this. They could redo the site and colour it pink with yellow dots but I would still visit. It is the content of the site and not the way it looks that I visit for.

I neither like nor dislike the new logo, as I will not look at it that often.

Flish do you think maybe after the new design is out you guys can put together a neowin graphics kit maybe? When i make wallpapers for myself i like to use the the current logo.

That's actually a good idea for things like press relations and such.

I am also sorry for the appalling attitudes that some have displayed in this topic.

Which appalling attitudes might u be refering to? I personaly quite like the logo but some that have been submitted are quite cool too. Everyone's entitled to an opinion you know!

That sounds wicked rad to me. I bet pink and yellow would look better than the theme they have going right now.

A sneak preview was presented to the mods and I have to say: I take my words back, now everything makes sense, the new neowin its sexy!

OMG man ...

This New NeoWin Had better be FANTASTIC!

I mean, serriously, ... thats like ... lol, ... sort of what you say when yer hypnotized. "It all makes sense to me now, ... I have seen the light ..."

Can one new interface be so different, new, and fantastic ...?

Can it be true? Can the new interface be so good, that it has the power to take a crappy logo, and incorporate it SO well, that all of us who think it really needs help are going to eat crow?

Enquiring minds want to know!

I've even made my new sig based on the new logo!

I gotta say the new logo already looks good on Danellis' new sig!

I'm beginning to love it :p

I think the problem was Flish presented the logo as such a large size, it just doesn't look that good at the size and by itself

Just reduced the opacity a bit because the colour was very strong.

I've got the PSD to prove it

Flish as I've said I think about 4 times to far this thread, but I can't resist saying it again! I think the new logo is amazing and you've done a superb job (Y).

EDIT: If you see Chris100's sig above, I made that for the neowin sig generator. I'll be speaking to Sam and get him to put on a new version with the new logo :)

    • You're absolutely right! No reason in hell these should be on the road!
    • They aren't going to want to. Most would just go with the 17 Pro and save money. Why would they want to spend $300 for basically the same thing? It's not worth it if there are hardly any changes from year to year.
    • 24H2 rolled out to the Release Preview Channel in early June 2024, so this coming a bit later in the Experimental Channel (formerly Dev) doesn't really say much more than earlier H2 releases that came out in October. I am not sure what the thinking is here by putting it in Experimental, one would think that the 26H2 stamp means features are locked down and it's now bug tested until October? I don't even pretend to understand Microsoft's strategy for Windows Insider Program though
    • Nothing Ear (a) and CMF Buds Pro 2 with active noise cancellation drop to lowest price ever by Fiza Ali With Prime Day 2026 scheduled to run from Tuesday 23 to Friday 26 June, Amazon has already begun rolling out early access offers ahead of the main event.
