wtf did they do to techtv?

bought it, "merged" programs for a while, sucked up all the money and staff that they could use, then wiped the techtv part out and turned it into g4 again.... just with more money and different staffing.

screw comcast. this announcement does nothing to recapture my interest in anything involving g4/techtv.

It all depresses me. I used to love watching the ScreenSavers, and Call for Help. Man, even the other shows were cool. tech-live, and the show with John Dvorak. man, that channel used to be stocked with good, smart, tech savy people. Now it is full of silly things. I mean, I like xplay, but, i dont need 12 shows on 1 channel about gaming.

I feel the same way. Shame TechTV had to die so soon.

I think this is a good move for G4TV, even if the channel still has the slogan "Videogame TV". They're trying to mix up their programming and gain more viewers. I have no problem with that, at least they have the guts to bring back a technology-oriented show.

I miss my TechTV.  Once the merge happen, Aussie viewers lost the channel :(

or possibly just trying to get more money...id feel more satisfied if they just gave me back my techtv

howd techtv go bankrupt anyway...i mean with so many supporting fans out there i dont get it...

The guy from X-Play makes me go CRAZY. His voice is so damn annoying. I always turn off the TV every time I hear him come on. Arrg. Honestly though, they're down to about 9 shows that they actually "show" at least once a day. Most of the time, the shows are all repeats. The only show that is new every day is Call for Help. Only one of them is actually remotely worth watching (again, Call for Help) although, like most of the people here, I miss the Screen Savers like it used to be. G4 seriously messed things up with this merger. It's all gone downhill and it sucks. Leo Laporte is all they have left.

Also, bringing random sucky bands to perform during AOTS is depressing and just gloomy. :(

I would rather listen to his voice than watch those STUPID knockoff commercials that G4TV was running.

Im speaking of the commercial that was in Black and White. It was just different G4TV show hosts, and their faces, just saying "dont vote for a bad game" "race to G-phoria". The complete knockoff of the commercial running on every other channel on TV where its famous actors in black and white speaking about hwo we need to make a difference in Africa.

I got so ****ed off about that commercial. The Africa hunger situation is a serious issue. And they are using that to make their own stupid entertainment commercial about a stupid awards show that no one could give a rats ass about.

OH NO...A BAD GAME MAY WIN AN AWARD NO ONE CARES ABOUT!

African Hunger? what?...

god...
