Jewish gunman was no terrorist, Israel rules

Four Arab Israelis shot dead by a soldier opposed to the closure of the Gaza Strip settlements are not victims of "terror" because their killer was Jewish, Israel's defence ministry has ruled, and so their families are not entitled to the usual compensation for life.

The ministry concluded that the law only recognises terrorism as committed by "organisations hostile to Israel" even though the prime minister, Ariel Sharon, described the killings by Private Eden Nathan Zaada, 19, as "a despicable act by a bloodthirsty terrorist."

He shot dead four people on a bus in the Arab Israeli town of Shfaram on August 4 and was then lynched by a mob.

Arab Israeli leaders have condemned the decision. Mohammed Barakeh, an Arab member of the Israeli parliament who lives in Shfaram, said: "The decision raises a strong scent of racism, which distinguishes between a Jewish terrorist and an Arab terrorist."

The defence ministry proposes to pay the families of the Shfaram victims an undisclosed lump sum instead of a lifelong monthly amount.

But Mr Barakeh says that denies the dead their recognition as victims of terrorism. He noted that Arabs who had committed individual attacks but were not members of armed organisations had still been branded by the Israeli government as terrorists.

Mr Barakeh has proposed an amendment to the law, recognising anyone harmed by "hostile activities by a terrorist organisation" as a victim of terror and therefore entitled to full compensation.

There was pressure to amend the law in 1990 after a 21-year-old Israeli soldier, Ami Popper, shot dead seven Palestinian workers. But it was not approved by parliament.

what can i say but :x

In most respects, non-Jewish Israelis enjoy full political and civic equality (although some laws favour Jewish citizens), but Israel is not a secular or multicultural state in the purest sense. It is official policy to preserve Israel as a Jewish state in both an ethnic and a religious sense.
Actually, do we mind? He might not be a terrorist but he's still a murderer.

We go and compare the activities done by Islamic Militant groups with those that are Jewish, who's killing more?

586473668

i care that isreal laws are racist even if nobody else does.

isreal's neighbours are terrorised by isreal.

586476464

Really? Last time I checked, the suicide bombers attacked Israel. Not Israelians bombing Palestien.

Let the Jews have their own land. They need a place to stay and live as well. There's plenty of room for Muslims and other religions to live together.

they have no right to roll i nto palastinian territory with their tanks and bull dozers and smash peaple out of their homes and killing anyone who gets in the way.

i cant think of a more terrifying thing to happen day in day out isreal should never have terrorised palistine and nobody would be looking at isreal like they looked at nazi germany.

What the? Are you blind in one eye? You know palestinians roll into Israeli territory with trucks and blow up their homes and kill anyone who gets in the way. You can't fight with out two people fighting.

if isreal where doing the same to my country i would roll in there with a ****in nuke given half a chance try acting the same way if some ****in country next to you rolls in and starts smashing streets down and killing anyone that try's to stop them then putting barriers up to block you from your own land.

isreal can do whatever and america just throws more money at them becouse their neigbours are laiden with oil and america and isreal are both working hard to destroy the middle east to get their dirty stinking scumbag hands on it well heres a wakeup call you wont win the middle east your going to loose that war looking at the state of americas defences your in **** street at the moment with all your troops in iraq i would be worried about japan invading you and ****ing the lot of you.

thats because its not nazi germany

palestinian terrorists can blow up israleis in cafes thats fine.. but if israel retaliates everyone sits up and trashes them

What worries me the most is how far this hatred between the two regions will go. There seems to be no end to the violence in that region and it's in my list of top 10 places I will never want to go. Second to hell.

The only solution I can see is to drive both countries into the ground, we cant have that so I guess we have to filter out the people with rage in their hearts.

I thought the topic was about who is regarded as a terrorist. In this case israeli government is playing a partisan role. A jewish man kills 4 arabs and arabs are not compensated properly because govt considers it as not terrorism. Thats the point being made and not who is right or wrong.

About the wrongs, both the sides are equally guilty for doing wrongs on others.

    • OpenAI's new GPT-5.5-Cyber tops Claude Mythos 5 in vulnerability benchmark by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI today announced a major expansion of Daybreak, a cybersecurity initiative designed to help defenders find, validate, and fix software vulnerabilities earlier in the development process. The availability of powerful AI models has definitely changed the cybersecurity landscape by making vulnerability discovery much faster. However, the bigger bottleneck for the industry is now patching those vulnerabilities. Impacted software teams need to validate the discovered issues, understand their impact, develop fixes, test them, and deploy patches. Back in March, OpenAI launched a preview of Codex Security, which uses agentic reasoning with automated validation to discover high-impact issues and actionable fixes specific to the codebase. Since then, it has scanned more than 30 million commits across over 30,000 codebases; more than 70,000 findings were marked as fixed by human reviewers, while over 500,000 findings were automatically determined to be fixed. Now, OpenAI is releasing an updated Codex Security plugin that can run deep scans, review recent code changes, generate security reports, trace attack paths, validate findings, and create codebase-specific patches for human review. It can also triage findings from existing scanners, advisories, bug bounty reports, and ticketing systems. OpenAI says the plugin can export results to vulnerability management systems and integrate with workflows using SARIF files, CodeQL queries, the Codex CLI, and the Codex app. Back in May, OpenAI announced the preview of GPT-5.5-Cyber, a new model built on top of the recently released GPT-5.5, designed for specialized cybersecurity work. Today, OpenAI launched the full version of GPT-5.5-Cyber through a limited release for verified defenders. On CyberGym, GPT-5.5-Cyber scored 85.6%, compared with 81.8% for GPT-5.5 and 83.8% for Claude Mythos 5. It also scored 39.5% on ExploitGym, compared with 25.95% for GPT-5.5, and 69.8% on SEC-bench Pro, compared with 63.1%. OpenAI also announced the new Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, which will allow security vendors and service providers to use GPT-5.5 with Trusted Access for Cyber in their products and services. Accenture, Akamai, Cisco, Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, IBM, Palo Alto Networks, Proofpoint, SentinelOne, Wiz, Zscaler, and others were listed as initial partners for this program. OpenAI is also launching Patch the Planet with Trail of Bits, HackerOne, Calif, researchers, and maintainers. More than 30 open-source projects have committed to participate, including cURL, Go, Python, Sigstore, and pyca/cryptography.
    • AMD confirms 26.6.2 FSR driver breaks on many Windows PCs by Sayan Sen Earlier today AMD released a major graphics driver update as it brings support for FSR 4.1 to Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs. The new update, version 26.6.2, also brings support for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and more. And while the driver technically supports Windows 10 version 21H2 and newer, the tech giant has confirmed that there is a major issue with the new driver on non-Windows 11 PCs as it fails to launch properly on such systems. The error message says, "The version of AMD Software that you have launched is not compatible with your currently installed AMD graphics driver." Therefore on the surface it looks like a compatibility problem. AMD has also confirmed that the device manager will display the yellow bang or yellow exclamation sign alongside your GPU under the Display adapters dropdown. Here is what the Radeon team's official advisory recommends to affected users: "Users Running Windows 10 and AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 May Encounter Yellow Bang in Device Manager Affecting AMD Radeon RX Series Graphics ... Our Engineers are currently investigating this issue and will provide a fix once it is available. Affected users may revert to AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.1 as a temporary workaround." As such you should revert back to the previous 26.6.1 driver which was released earlier this month. In case you were looking to play Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced and DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations you will probably have to wait a while if you want the driver to support those games officially. You can find the support article here on Microsoft's website.

    • A McDonald's restaurant uses about 1.5 to 2 million gallons of water per year for operations like food preparation, cleaning, and restrooms. That is a lot less than the 2,083 gallons of water per megawatt hour mentioned above.
