@ Bloodwork...pm me with ur email addy or get on MSN and ill send u the latest build, i THINK i fixed ur issue.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments folks... workin hard to improve it as we speak.. and i mean hard !

anyway here is the initial screeny from AthleticTrainer1981 for the logon he is working on.

and in his words... "So far this is how I envision the logon to look. It has a glass look to it because the wallpapers of Vxp have a sutle glass look to it and I wanted to pick up on it. The idea for this was inspired by the 'windows vista' logon by 'the sphynx'. I recieved permission from him to use the general layout for the design of it but all the graphics are done from the VS/WB theme 'Vxp' "

please check the shellstyle. when you click on Control Panel and choose one of the tasks (ex. Appearance and Themes) you have a dark blue box at the lower right but the rest is a bright loud blue that doesn't match with anything. the gradient across the top is also that bright blue to dark blue and the text is dark and almost unreadable. all these categories have the same problem. and if you click on User Accounts everything is the bright blue that doesn't match the VS colors.

other than that you've done a good job on this vs, thanks :)

That logon seems sorely out of place. It's a mix of two styles that just don't belong together. The logon should be done from scratch and use elements from the Visual Style while not being a 2 second chop job.

BTW, I mean no offence since I'm certain some will read it that way, but I really don't know how else to put it. I just dont' see a point in representing a flat color based them with a glass login area overlayed on a glossy wallpaper.

UPDATE ... 11:04pm

k, I have fixed the windows border color issue ..changed from black to a light brown.

The darkest blue button color which made website buttons hard to read...is fixed.

The control panel issues have been fixed.

The details panel in shellstyle no longer has black text it is now uniformly blue (shellstyle captions i am going to rework altho i did slim them some in this build)

The 1 pixel gap at top of maximized window has been fixed.

The tabs have been redesigned and text colors changed for a smoother easier on the eyes look.

The firefox and other alt. browser address bar windows should now be white in all browsers.

Still lots to do but these are the major updates so far.

I need bug reports folks, id like to make this the best it can be.

As Promised... RC2..

no problem, thanks for thanking me

not to be rude or anything, well actually i don't care if i am, but these are they types of threads that really get the neowin bandwidth going up. obviously you have a website. why do you find the need to attatch the files here?

and as for screenshots and updates of things why attatch everything here? it's only useful to post so many unfinished screenies of a trillian skin. i mean for some bugs and things yeah, post them as an attatchment.

please use common sense everyone. if you have your own website use it. because if this keeps up and bandwidth usage keeps skyrocketing who knows how long neowin will be here.

if need be send me the file for the vs and i'll host it. and i don't even like or use the vs...

    • Just the price of doing business. The scamble to pull as much from the web as possible is happening, and it's happening before a case like this changes how or what is legal do to with AI in terms of data harvesting. But even then as we've seen with the likes of Google who ignore cookie requests and just accept the fact they'll get fined, it's built into their business price model now. AI is here, its not going away. Their reward if any from the court case would be best suited to trying to incorprate AI or licence their end points as authentic human verified content. The problem is, as we've seen these same news papers are using AI themselves.

    • This Chinese company is reportedly developing a feature Apple and Samsung can only dream of by Hamid Ganji While companies like Apple and Samsung have been relatively conservative with their devices’ battery capacities in recent years, Chinese manufacturers have taken the competition to the next level by introducing significantly larger batteries. However, the latest report from China suggests that a local company may already be developing a smartphone with a whopping 14,000mAh battery. Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station claimed on Weibo that a smartphone maker is developing a device with a 14,000mAh battery. If true, it would be the largest battery ever used in a smartphone and could, in theory, provide up to a week of battery life on a single charge. The leaker did not reveal the name of the company behind the device, but there are some clues. This week, HONOR unveiled the X80 Pro Max in China with an 11,000mAh battery and 90W wired charging support. The company also launched the Honor Win in January, which packs a 10,000mAh battery. HONOR, a former subsidiary of Huawei, has a proven track record of developing smartphones with unusually large batteries. However, other Chinese brands, including Xiaomi, have also launched devices such as the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max with 7,500mAh batteries. Though Chinese users on Weibo also believe the company behind the new battery is HONOR. Interestingly, Digital Chat Station said the device with the 14,000mAh battery weighs around 220 grams, making it lighter than the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max (233 grams) and slightly heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (214 grams). The iPhone 17 Pro Max currently packs a 5,088mAh battery in eSIM-only versions, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra features a 5,000mAh battery. Neither device is expected to see a dramatic increase in battery capacity in its next-generation successor. So when it comes to battery comparison, Chinese brands are unbeaten. HONOR smartphones are currently available in the EU, but the Chinese brand has no official presence in the United States due to restrictions imposed by the U.S. government.
