Rikku
I have burned 2 ubuntu disks LIVE! and install..i tried to boot the live edition and it didnt boot and the same with the install no error no nothing just pop my WinXP normally 586518296[/snapback] Have you tried changing the boot order? Your BIOS may not be configured to boot from the CD-ROM. Try pressing F12 while your booting up. Not sure if it's the same on your computer as mine, but it should give you a menu of options to boot from. Choose the CD drive and have fun! markwolfe Veteran Posted September 13, 2005 Veteran Share Posted September 13, 2005 Is your BIOS set to boot from the CD before the hard drive? Did you burn the CDs correctly? (normal file/directory structure, or one big .iso file?)

(otherwise you just get the files, and no boot information, which exists outside of the file area)
ViperSnake
Ahh, the common mistake of all linux newbies, they burn the actual ISO or uncompress the ISO and burn the files to CD. NO NO NO! You have to use special software to burn ISO's, what CD burning app do you use? If it's something major, check for a burn image function. If you don't, CDBurnerXP is a nice free alternative.
