Nintendo Revolution Controller Revealed

Wouldn't the right hand be used for shooting (unless you were left-handed)? It'll be like this:

Analog stick add-on = Move, change weapons, jump, etc.

Remote stick = Aim/move camera, shoot

Anyway, Nintendo are going to need good games to support the console. Metroid Prime 3 would be nice as a launch title.

Yea.. sorry.. the other left :p

wont this make games just too god damn simple? i mean u point it wer u wna go,its like its made for kids or sumthin.i personally think it looks like crap like my tv remote, and with those silly attachments...god.ps3 and nintendo have ****ed me off with their stupid controllers, and no im not an xbox fanboy cos i have 3 ps2s and 2 ps1s. and a nes a snes and a gcube.

Read it fully this isnt point n click mate.

The controller, I'm sorry REMOTE is pure sh*t. After playing a little while it's going to get uncomfortable in your hand. The atachment with the analog stick isn't anything new. That was on the old 3DO systems like 10 years ago. I know because I have one packed away.

Sorry but Nintendo hasn't done anything good since the Nintendo 64 and look how long it took them just to release a system where the games weren't cartridge based.

They should also bring out a standard controller because if that piece of sh*t is all they have planned then Nintendo has officially killed themselves.

NINTENDO HAS DIED

I'll say it again. For whatever reason, if your a fanboy of another system or you just don't like it and aren't willing to learn something new, don't buy it. It's not worth everyone getting their blood pressure up discussing something that you haven't even tried yet. Yes its different. The potential of what this can be used for is mind boggling. But if you try to use this new controller thinking that this is going to suck, guess what? It's gonna suck. Believe it or not there was a time when there weren't game consoles for the home. Those of us that grew up in arcades were in shock when the original Nintendo came out. How could you make a controller that didn't have a joystick? People adapted and got used to the new controller. Same thing will happen here. Again, if you don't like it, don't buy it. If you aren't willing to learn something new, don't buy it. If you want the same ol same ol, don't buy it. But, until you actually try it, keep your opinions to yourself.

Wait why do you people have a problem with Nintendo using the GameCube controller again. Sony used the Dual Shock in the PS1 and PS2 and there no complaints. Suddenly Nintendo decides to use its GameCube controller with its next console and there are all sorts of problems.

Let me guess, when MS and Sony come wout with controllers with tilt sensing technology, pinpoint aiming, etc. it is suddenly going to be so awesome and cool then?

If third parties do not want to use the new controller with their multiplatform games, they just use the GameCube controller. It doesn't take rocket science to figure that out.

listen here fanboy, people don't have to like nintendo just because you want them to. they can play whatever they like

yeah the GC controller was not really good for street fighter or any other game except nintendo games, which was kinda my point before.

Just flip it to the left...

yeah, but correct me if im wrong, but even flipped are there not more than like 4 buttons on that thing? ;)

I'm thinking that Nintendo if they play it right may be able to pull it off. But FPS, etc, I don't see how they'll be good with this new controller:||

586532838

thats where i think your 100% WRONG. This setup is PERFECT for FPS, to the point where its so intuitive, its almost like cheating. Thats both good and bad, good that its soo good with FPS and bad because it doesnt work so good for other games.

Clearly you are not old enough to drive, because in the real world , one turns the steering wheel more than 360 degrees in one direction (left or right ) to make a perpindicular turn.

586532600

Clearly you've never played a racing game on a console. Moving a little analog joystick achieves what you say is impossible with tilting this controller. And the new controller is more maneuverable.

It takes around week to order a controller, then you must go pick it up... Many people don't want to bother with that.

Leave house. Visit real world. Find building called a "store" and use paper exchanged for goods and services to trade for controller.

What a seriously stupid argument to use.

"I'll never be able to find extra controllers. I know because I can't even find the machine yet."

Um, hello? No store in this country sells Gamecube controllers, or PS2 controllers or Xbox controllers?

How can you not understand me? Have you even watched them use the thing yet. In a fighting game swinging your arms around for hours and hours would get tiring no matter how trained you are. Playing an FPS and moving your wrists around constantly as with your arms would get them stiff and tired.

That's a lot of wasted time. When you swim, do you keep going long after it's uncomfortable?

Am I holding a gun to someone's head to buy the Reovlution or something?

@iconboy: Soul Calibur II and Super Smash Brothers beg to differ.

They should also bring out a standard controller because if that piece of sh*t is all they have planned then Nintendo has officially killed themselves.

@halloween_david: They said the controller can be plugged into a controller shell. If you don't like the remote or GameCube controller they are probably going to have shells like this ideal, which will probably allow have the functionality of the remove with a normal controller:

Wow, an old guy like me with the same opinions. I'll tell ya, kids these days. :p

I hold my TV remote for like 4 hours watching football games because I always flip to other games between commercials.

Now try flipping the same remote for an hour and come back. ;)

So jmole, any update on that ?

Like I said already, I am one of the few people who liked it right from the get go but I am still not sold on the functionality aspect.

Jerry, no one has used the controller yet and it will be different for each person. Some people may find it to painful, others may not. If you don't want to hold the controller, I am sure they will have a shell you can plug it into.

I'm not concerned about the "small hand-big hand" issue at all. my point is that swinging, aiming, etc. burns a lot more calories than just moving your fingers (traditional controllers).

Looks unique. Personally I've never liked Nintendo because of the games they release arent my kind of thing, that said this controller might bring back the sparkle by making you part of the game, not just controlling it, so to speak. This is the first Nintendo thing I've ever seen that I might give a try in a long time. :)

    • Less powerful than a PS5 at twice the price! I wonder if they use that for marketing? Totally DoA.

    • How does it compare to the "SeeStar S30 Pro" and the "Vespera PRO 2"?
    • Indeed. And note that those units are MUCH cheaper than this new Steam Machine...ahem.
