Enough of that crap. Leave the thread and preach to your buddies if you want, but grow up in here. Saying something is good does not make everything else bad by default. You like Xbox? Go play one. You like PSOne or 2? Go play one. No one cares. This is Nintendo news, not fanboy central. Nobody said this will kick your favourite console's ass.

Man this thread is hilarious, all the anti-Nintendo fanboys cussing up a storm saying that Nintendo is dead. You guys aren't analysts, most of you haven't even read the hands-on reviews. Talk about narrow minded... Sheesh. Anyway, on topic:

I think the new controller is very innovative and I really can't wait to try it out myself. I know that Nintendo will be able to create amazing games around this design and I can't wait to play those. Third party games on Nintendo systems are practically unheard of. But thier first party titles are always AAA stuff. As you can probally tell Im getting a 360, but I'm confident I'll have a Revolution next to it when its all said and done.

Although the controller doesn't really fulfill my expectation on the "revolution" hype Nintendo created earlier, it still looks impressive and innovative. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Also, I think some people in this thread are being too dramatic; traditional controller will be supported from what I've heard and even if it wasn't, Nintendo wouldn't just "die" because of one damn controller.

It looks...dumb. And why I say that is because how can you get competive playing a foot ball game, or shooter game, when you point the "controller" at the tv like a tv remote. I mean seriously, turn it side ways, where its like the old Nintendo controllers, then it kicks ass. But like it is. Yuck. :x

It looks weird (and different for a console), but it might be really good for gaming, although it really does look uncomfortable, IMO, since TV remotes aren't the most ergonomical; but in Nintendo-ese, putting a tilt sensor and a pointer in a standard remote layout is "revolutionary."

I'll hold off any hard judgement until I actually get to try one out in person, while it looks weird now, it might be alright when it finally comes out.

There are a hundred threads like this, I just happened to pick out the browser war one. Thats all, nothing more, nothing less. Anyways, I don't need to justify myself to anyone that isn't even old enough to vote yet.

I am optimistic, but I could really see getting a lot more emotionally involved in a zeld game swinging a sword... or FPS searching around with a gun...

Can you imagine how fun it would be to play with a bunch of friend drunk too!!!

You can turn it on its side to play old games. When you rotate it, the buttons have the same configuration as the original nintendo controller.

By old games do you mean NES, SNES etc?

Because Iwata said Nintendo will be releasing a "Classic Shell" to attach to the Revo controller which will play games like that.

You can still use the GameCube controllers, they work with the Rev.

Well the revolution controller is, well, revolutionary. I wonder what people really expected when they figured that Nintendo was going to try something different with the controller? Okay, I admit when I fist saw pictures of it I was like... what... the... (explative deleted)... butlooking at that video it looks like there can be some very good uses for a difference in controllers. Then again, I do believe that the majority of the people will look at this and say: "I hate Nintendo." People always fear change, and this is a pretty big departure from the standard controllers we have grown acccustomed to over the years, so I can see that point of view. And I'm a little skeptical myself about how it will actually fare in playing games. But then again, Nintendo has been around for ages and they are now the gaming company that likes to try new things, and maybe it will all work out for them.

I'm unfortunately agreeing with the word I've heard that this will be Nintendo's downfall, at least in America. But as long as they have Japan, Nintendo will never be out of it. But I so want to be proven wrong. I'm no console fan, so I like to think I keep a nice neutral feel in the whole console wars buisness.

(Just an added note though, I guess its not so bad since I was reminded by the post above that this controller is just on option.)
