if i learnt anything about photoshopping or anything.. not one picture that could have been real was real.

i feel more comfortable knowing that absolutely everything was fake. Its unbeilivable. The people who claimed they knew, and the people who said they have pictures of the controllers didn't know anything.

I don't think photoshoped pictures won't* (sorry typo) do much now, Now that we know how top secret the revolution is.

In an industry where people **** and moan about there being no innovation in hardware or software you people sure seem like Hypocrites. Nintendo comes along and innovates and creates something new, people continue to **** and moan because now it is too different.

Do you people like playing the same game over and over with a "2" and some cheesy sub-title added to the name?

The possibilities are endless for this controller, sword fighting, gun fighting. If it is sensitive to position and movement, imagine being able to tilt it upwards in a FPS to put your straight up so that it doesn't show past a wall. Then as your opponent is only inches away snap out and blast them.

Sword fighting and melee fights will be awesome, dynamic input that will follow swings of your hand and such.

Innovation is the key to success.

OK might not be the best of words, but when I wanna a game its to relax and entertain. Just slump out with a pad and veg for a bit, not flail my arms arround for a while.

One of the hands-ons said they were just resting their hand on their laps like they would with other controllers and moving it small amounts and it still registered everything perfectly. It won't have to be held in the air and waved around like crazy.

I would think if you are sitting down you could rest the bottom part of the wheel in your lap taking away alot of the weight off your forearms. The controller is much smaller then that as seen in the pictures of Iwata holding it so I think the steering wheel would have to be much smaller.

In regards to the other posts before this the IGN people who tried it said:

I am absolutely amazed by nintendo and that steering wheel idea was insane. It's been said many times but it's true, people don't like change but I think this is one time change is good, it's very good and nintendo are not going to need compete with sony and ms, they're going to win people like me over who can imagine sitting with a bunch of mates having a much more fun time with something like this, mario party would be interesting lol. This is why nintendo said their graphics on next-gen won't be that mind blowing, it doesn't need to be they're doing what everyone supposedly wants and focusing on gameplay and the way we play the games, but still people complain. Just enjoy the fact we live at such an interesting time.

WTF.. is going on with some of ye people talking trash... coming on here saying its sh1te and all... you haven't even seen it in action for fooks sake..

i dunno , when are people gonna stop hating and stop fearing something new, something different...

anyways i think they haven't shown any games, is because the don't want to distract with UBER graphics and such, but to let them some time to get to grips with the controller and come up with their own interpretations of how it may be used....

then after we understand the controller, we shall see the light.................................

These photoshoped pics of controllers are stupid (for me, a waste of my viewing pleasure). Stop giving Nintendo ideas, they might see this and actually release something stupid like the wheel, where's the spring to bring the wheel back into straight position once you make the turn? I dont think anyone has time to make the 2 circle back to the left after you make a u-turn to the right or something like that.

So the comment I was going to make was on the sensetivity. Some games require higher than others. Some gamers want lower than other. I would like to be informed on this. I dont have the leasure to read the whole IGN article to see if mentioned, but read most of the game parts.

On the Controller being like the NES, the NES was larger in sense of height, I feel bad for the ones with big hands out there.

The photoshopping has begun again even after we have the actual controller.  People are now starting to think of the possiblities attachments could be added to the controller:

I was thinking, if developers start making attachments such as baseball bats, golf clubs, or tennis rackets that could plug into the controller this could singlehandedly be one of the greatest devices.  Selling attachments alone could make companies alot of money.

i dont think the IGN article mentioned anyhting about sensetivity yet... but im sure they'll have the option to fiddle with that...

it looks like... nope im not even going to say it.. ill just laugh when you get shot and it starts the rumble effect in your hand. or when the very close minded parents/congresspeople start advocating against it based on what it looks like :x

I just got home from my friends and saw this. Wave+bird plus the Revolution controller = GOLD. I was sold on the remote alone let alone the wavebird shell. Nintendo must make this mock-up or IGN shall pay for this tease. However I think the remote would be better for some games then other rather then the shell because it seems like it would be kind of hard waving the shell around. Edited by jmole

How is movement of the controller detected?

We use Bluetooth technology to communicate between the controller and what we call a 'sensor bar', which has two little sensors on it that are maybe a foot apart. These sensors can be detached from the bar and they can be above the TV or below the TV - it doesn't really matter.

There's really no set-up other than just putting the bar by the TV. There's no calibration for size or type of TV or anything like that.

And the gamer won't have to sit in the same position every time they're playing a title that uses the motion-sensing function?

Absolutely not - the relative angle in front of the sensor bar is about the same as the viewing angle of the TV. So if you can see the TV, the controller is going to work.

Shigeru Miyamoto recently stated that Nintendo was still adding and removing various functions of the controller - can you explain the transitions the device has undergone during development?

We spent a lot of time puzzling over what types of human interface we can do that will be really beneficial to both new gamers and existing gamers, and we've considered all kinds of ideas.

You've seen all the different kinds of technologies that are out there and we needed something that was accurate, reliable and relevant for our audience.

Mr Miyamoto is correct that the design is not 100% final. It is basically complete, but we reserve the right to move buttons and round corners. However, we have not shared everything that there is to know about Revolution or its controller.

So there are still some secrets to be revealed?

C'mon, we're Nintendo - we like to hold things until the very end!
