Well, I once get a 433Mhz celeron to run @ 466Mhz without touching core voltage... should I be proud of that? :D

And my old Duron 700Mhz can run almost @ 900Mhz, by increasing the FSB and core voltage changed from 1.6V to 1.85. But then the power supply gets pretty hot... :)

Too bad my recent Sempron system doesn't allow any other overclocking, than the memory clock (it's a crappy BIOS & mb). And even that makes no difference in mem clocks, cause the FSB is limited to 200Mhz.

My Opteron 165 is rock stable at 2.66ghz with the Tuniq Tower 120 and AS5. I didn't reach the maximum yet, I just stopped here at 2.66 so it could maybe do more, I'll find out when I'll have the time.

Get bent Intel fan boys here is a realistic OC! When Intel gets real about real time speed then i'll beimpressed.

Here ya go, my 80% OC beats your 50%, done with an Intel Core 2 Duo. Intel is clock for clock better than AMD at the moment :)

On my motherboard (Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9) the only overclocking features are Bus speed and Multiplyer, it manages the voltage on its own (makes things pritty easy). I'm using the Arctic Freezer64 Pro. First time i've ever fiddled with my processor too.

Well I have a dell so overclocking so I can't overclock my p4 (It would probably explode with this ****ty heatsink anyway). I have my 7600GS OC'd from 400/266(533) to 540/340 (680). The memory in the card is crappy and won't go much farther than 360 without bad artifacts, the core OC's like a dream though, very minimal increase in temperature.

All I did was increase the vcore just a little, increase the FSB and voila! 3.55ghz and memory running at 888mhz 1:1 @ 4-4-4-12 . I was able to effortlessly reach 3.8ghz but had to raise chipset + vcore voltage and the speed increase wasn't worth the higher temps...

i got some catching up to do! havent had the time to thoroughly test anything higher atm.

check sig for results so far.

The RAM is probably holding you back, try running it @ 5-5-5-15, increase the FSB and see if it boots... Maybe you'll have to add +0.1v to the memory as well, make sure its within the ram voltage limits though, you dont wanna fry it :p

Also if you're using the stock heatsink, you won't reach as far...

sorry for double post can't edit:

I was actually getting around 500 points more before I updated a bunch of intel drivers... still a decent score for a vista pc

pc:

case: Antec Sonata III 500

mobo: gigbyte p35 ds3r

CPU: Q6600 g0 @ 3ghz

mem: 2gig kingston 667 (not oc'ed anyone know how much % performance I could gain if I oc'ed it?)

vid card: Foxconn 8800GTS OC edition 640MB

PSU: included with case, antec earthwatts 500watt

about 900 euro total this does not include a harddisk I still had one I could use. Next upgrade when money allows: physx card, another 2gb ram, raid setup.

    • My son is in Monaco right now, and I was checking his location in Apple's Find My app. I noticed that Prince Albert's Palace was blurred out on the satellite imagery in both Find My and Apple Maps. I checked Google Maps, and the palace wasn't blurred there. Does Apple have some kind of process where property owners can request that their homes be blurred on Apple Maps?
    • No, it was THAT ugly and I’d rather forget it completely existed.
    • There is a lot of reasons not to use Edge but faster fixes and security updates is not one of them.
    • Can't reproduce. I installed Edge, went to neowin.net > accepted the cookie consent > used menu to go to forums, everything loads and I can browse around the forums. If you can't interact with the dialog on the forums for some reason, go to the main site and accept the cookie consent there? It is true that the site will not function properly until the cookie consent is accepted or rejected,. it's a legal requirement and I also know that certain VPN/ad blockers block it, which is a user related issue and not a neowin.net problem.   This is not our cookie consent dialog.
