i have a core2duo e4300 from 1800 to 3420mhz, and some geil value 800mhz ram, from 5-5-5-15 to 4-4-4-12 i know there are a lot of better clocks than that around, but i dont think its too bad on air. anyone know why i cant see my 7950gt speeds in windows?

thanks,

Peter

q6600 @ 4.1 ghz :p

If you dont mind me asking, how were you able to accomplish that. I'm getting my Q6600 this Thursday and I plan to overclock it at 3.6ghz, thats my goal. Also I'm new to Intel..... Been a AMD Fan Boy ever since Athlon XP came out. Thank You in advance

e6300(1.8) @ 2.8GHz for about 8 months there on stock cooling.

put it back to defaults though because its fast enough for what i do so it was just extra stress on the CPU and northbridge (which is passively cooled) for no real reason.

the core2's are a dream for overclocking though.

NVIDIA e-GeForce 8600 GT (256mb DDR3)

Stock Core Clock / Memory: 540/1400MHz

Modified Core Clock / Memory: 648/1666MHz

~5hrs stable on 3DMarks06, ~4 hours straight of BioShock + Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. (never dropped below 55fps 2x AA with 1280x768 resolution on Bio / Cod 4 with max settings)

I'm running my Q6600 at 3.0 GHz. Considering putting it upto 3.3-3.6 GHz as it's running at 31?c idle. What do you lot think?

update, just got stable at 3.6ghz on my e4300

anyone know what clock i need for a wei score of 5.9? i'm at 5.9 on everything else, but 5.8 on the processor

How did you get 5.9 with your RAM? I got 2xOCZ2N1066SR1G and got 5.2:((

not sure :s

thats really odd, whats your latencies? mines at 4-4-4-12

check your load temps, after a few minutes at load, i get dangerously hot at 3.6, but i idle at 30?

buying my mum a new pc for her birthday, i'm putting it in her old medion case (from aldi) that she's had for years, i'm thinking of putting a q6600 in it, what are they like compatibility wise (not to up to date on quad cores)

mines http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct....rodid=MY-064-GL oc'd to 4-4-4-12

I got 5.9 with my old 2 GB DDR2 667 SuperTalent lmao. ALso 5.9 now with my 4 gigs of Corsair XMS2 at 4-4-4-10, but even 5-5-5-18 got 5.9.

e6400 running at 3.0ghz. Runs at 30-32 degrees celcius during normal usage. Heats up to about 40-45 when playing games. This is on the intel factory heatsink/fan, gotta get a new one soon. Thinking artic cooler freezer 7 pro. Suppose to be awesome for the price and a lot of reviews i have read love it to death.

I wouldnt reccomend going for the freezer 7, i got 1 degree lower than the stock when i got one. If you want an upgraded cooler go all the way :)

Are you referring to the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro? I'll assume you're not because that's a fantastic cooler for the price. There are few that beat it in the $20 range, and it blows away the Intel stock cooler (pun intended) considering noise levels and airflow.

My overclock:

Running everything on the Abit IN9 32x-MAX 680i motherboard with two optical drives and two hard drives. Q6700 @ 3.33GHz on 1.39v. I've overclocked my 8GB of A-Data RAM (only $69 per 4GB kit) to 1000MHz, instead of the stock 800MHz on only 1.95v. It's still running at stock timings of 5-5-5-18, and it's cooled by the OCZ memory cooler. I'm cooling the CPU with a very quiet and decent looking Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, and the northbridge with a 40mm Scythe fan. I've overclocked the 8800GT from BFG's stock 625MHz to 700MHz. Temps still under 70c at load w/fan at 35% on the stock cooling. Everything is powered by an Antec NeoPower 650 modular PSU (with blue LED) and it's kept in the Antec Nine Hundred case with a couple of extra fans added by myself for good measure. Still extremely quiet. You hear ZERO fan noise, just the faint movement of air. Quiet enough to sleep by. (It's in the bedroom. Hardly hear it from the bed!)

4 Passes of all memtest's tests without a single error.

Passes Prime95 on all four cores at 100% for hours without errors.

Plays games like a charm and runs CS3 with flying colors.

Using Vista 64-bit to enable all 8GB of RAM.

    • Frankly, I blame whoever is writing such articles. "A big improvement/update and/or new feature is now available to everyone! Also, use this unofficial tweak tool to enable it because it actually isn't available to you yet officially and might not in fact even be entirely ready or whatever, hence why it is perhaps not enabled for you*. But it's great and you should enable it!" I mean there's nothing wrong with sharing info about some feature you might need to enable via unofficial means, of course. It's just that these articles tend to essentially end up being two news pieces in one, and one of them tends to be a bit misleading. (*Yes, yes, the "it's a controlled rollout!" thing. Not a fan of that one either. The argument, not the actual rollout.)
    • Thank you. Will do. I read in the release notes that editor config might be at play here.
    • Actually, I think even Microsoft doesn't know how to control it
    • OpenAI is making Codex more useful in Chrome and the cloud by Pradeep Viswanathan OpenAI's Codex now has more than 5 million users, up nearly 4x from earlier this year. To further accelerate Codex's growth among developers, OpenAI today announced that it has agreed to acquire Ona, a company that builds secure cloud execution and orchestration technology for developers. Ona will enable developers to run Codex with persistent and controlled cloud infrastructure for long-running agentic workflows. Right now, most Codex execution happens locally on developers' laptops and PCs, and the agents work continuously for hours. Through Ona, OpenAI aims to make Codex agents keep working for days without being tied to a user’s local machine or an active session. This will be an important capability for enterprises that want to deploy AI agents in production while maintaining control over infrastructure, data, security boundaries, credential scope, logging, and review workflows. Like any acquisition, the deal is still subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Until the deal closes, OpenAI and Ona will continue to operate as separate companies. After closing, Ona’s team will join the Codex team to improve developer workflows. Alongside the Ona acquisition announcement, OpenAI today introduced a few Codex updates. Developers can now save Codex rate limit resets and use them later instead of losing them when they are not needed immediately. OpenAI is also adding a referral option where users can invite a friend to Codex and get a saved rate limit reset. OpenAI today also announced a developer mode for browser use in Chrome and the Codex in-app browser. With this mode, Codex can use the Chrome DevTools Protocol to debug web apps, inspect pages, and work more directly with browser-based development workflows. Developers can use this when they want Codex to profile JavaScript, inspect console output and network traffic, examine web page states including the DOM and applied styles, and more.
