[MLB] Yanks take lead in AL East

Recommended Posts

The Yanks have battled back feverishly I'll give them that, but I still dont want them in the playoffs. Both Sox teams choking here in the final stretch, its a little unsettling. Hopefully the BoSox pull it out, nothing would please me more than to see the Yanks on their couches in the postseason.

Ugh.? Anybody, but the Yankees - the bandwagon team of the decade!

Bandwagon team? I personally know two kinds of people in my life with regard to the Yankees. Either they are life-long diehard fans (like bangbang023) or they absolutely despise the Yankees (like myself:devil:). Actually, Ido> know two people who weren't always Yankee fans but jumped ship, butonly> thsoe two (seem to be the exception not the rule in my experience). Aside from them the battle lines are clearly drawn for everyone else I know. That includes family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances, classmates and just about every other person I've met in my walk of life.

I was with the team before there was a bandwagon.

I hate the NY Bankees.

That's original. How can you get upset about them using their money? The Yankees are in a hot market and have VERY loyal fans who shell out a lot of cash. Steinbrenner simply puts the money back into the team instead of pocketing almost all of it.

As for the comeback, it's unbelievable. If we can get a 2 game lead by the time we meet up with Boston, I think we'll make it. As everyone has been saying for the past week, screw Cleveland, we want the East.

(Y) for the Yankees. (N) for my Marlins

You guys have a lot to look forward though. You're a young team with a lot of talent. If the owners are willing to spend a little to hang on to your top guys, you're in top shape to become one of the best teams in the NL.

We are a good team, but we have no friggin bullpen.

Plus the Braves in your division. As long as they're there it seems anyone else in the NL East has to shoot for the wild-card. I really thought this was the year they'd fall but when they're winning games with 8 guys in the lineup being rookies (a few times this year) I don't see how they'll ever not win. Only hope is they don't have that kind of depth in the farm system to fill in the pitching rotation when the guys they have finally retire. Of course, Mezzone (sp?) seems to be able to trun ANYone into a good pitcher anyway.

Here I was thinking that I could enjoy a playoffs without the Yankees, but then they had to go on this latest run while Boston falls. Cleveland is doing their job, although at this rate they'll overtake Chicago, who would themselves have given the Yanks the Wild Card.

Yes! The Yankees have won again tonight, and with Boston off tonight, the Yanks are now a full game ahead of the Red Sox. I honestly didn't think (although I really hoped) the AL East wouldn't come down to the last 3 games betwen the Yanks and Red Sox, but that is now looking very likely.

Wouldn't it be interesting if one of them doesn't make it to the postseason at all? Of course, it is very likely that one of the two of them wins the division, and Cleveland will just break down in the end and give up the Wild Card spot to the other AL East team. Heck, it might even be the White Sox who do it!

Man, the last 10 games of the season are going to be very interesting for which teams from the AL make the playoffs. It's going to be awesome! :woot:

Cleveland will not give up the Wild Card they are still a half game ahead of NY, let alone a game and a half ahead of Boston, Cleveland is the team NO ONE in the American League wants to play right now.

The Yankees and the Indians are currently the two hottest teams in the AL right now, both with impressive records for the past 2 weeks. The Yankees kept trying to catch the Indians to go ahead in the Wild Card, but the Indians kept pace very nicely. In the process, with both teams being hot, the Yankees simply overtook the Red Sox for the AL East lead. Who needs the Wild Card when you can win the division?

Yes, the Yankees are the current bandwagon team in baseball if you haven't noticed. I despise the Yankees as well. All you have to do is look around and talk to people and you'll see more people walking around in Yankees stuff than 5 years ago. Plus, people who have no idea how to play baseball will say they like the Yankees.

    • Google Chrome is ending support for two ancient versions of Android by Usama Jawad Google Chrome is the most used browser right now, with the competition trailing far behind. What browser you use typically ends up being a matter of preference and familiarity, but all vendors are trying to one-up each other as they vy for more market share. Recently, Google claimed that Chrome is now faster than ever while Microsoft boasted that Edge is better at ad-blocking than Google's offering. Regardless of all these factors, Chrome commands a significant market share, even on legacy systems. Now, Google has announced that it is ending support for Chrome on two legacy versions of Android. In a brief blog post, Google has announced that it is dropping support for Chrome on Android 8 Oreo and Android 9 Pie with the upcoming version 139 of the browser expected to release on August 5. Right now, the current stable version of Chrome is 137, which means that Chrome 138 will be the last version of the browser to support these legacy operating systems. In practice, this means that Chrome will require Android 10.0 or above on mobile platforms in order to receive further updates. While the browser will continue working on older versions of Android, they will not receive updates, which means that they'll be left insecure and vulnerable to cybersecurity threats. As expected, Google has recommended that users on older systems should migrate to at least Android 10 in order to continue receiving updates on Chrome. While the company hasn't explicitly stated a reason behind its decision, it likely has to do with the dwindling user base of these old versions of Android and Google's ambitions to get more people to upgrade to newer versions of its mobile operating system. It's important to note that Android 8 was released in August 2017 and received its final security patch in October 2021. Meanwhile, Android 9 was rolled out to the public in August 2019 and netted its final update in January 2022. So in retrospect, Google has already been offering Chrome support for these legacy versions long after they hit end-of-support themselves.
    • I use two of these in RAID0 for video games and other things, together they are capable of 2.8 million IOPS and 15 GB/s on Gen4. At this price, 4 TB of Gen4 is faster and less expensive than a single 2 TB Gen5 NVMe, not to mention easier to cool off. Highly recommend.
    • that is a normal sign in, they just put in a dumb location to try to hide it... and yes I think the whole MS account by default is BS too, the first question should be do you want an online profile or a local one
    • From our past comments, it looks like some ppl are defo enjoying these stories.
    • You are missing the point, we should not have to do that. Should have a do you want an MS account option on the normal sign in.
