As I've seen alot of the same questions asked over and over (and also in IRC), so here's an FAQ for y'all (I'm aware we used to have one but it's done AWOL :p)

Is AutoPatcher free?

Yes, AutoPatcher is 100% freeware.

Does Microsoft know you are doing this? Won't you get in trouble for not using WGA?

Yes, Microsoft do know about AutoPatcher, and no, there are no problems in not using WGA.

WGA is first and foremost an educational tool. A lot (probably a majority) of people using an illegal copy of Windows don't know that they are doing so. WGA flags the copy as illegal and directs the user to upgrade, helping Microsoft recover sales they would have lost otherwise. WGA also creates an irritant that should prod a lot of casual pirates to eventually pay for a legitimate copy. WGA was never intended be a 100% solution. Therefore, redistribution of hotfixes doesn't constitute a "flaw."

Does AutoPatcherXP contain SP2?

No, AutopatcherXP does not contain SP2. This you must download from Microsoft.

Is there an AutoPatcher for XP SP1?

The last version for SP2 users was August 2004. (todo: add link)

What is the difference between Full and Lite downloads?

The Full release contains everything the Lite release does plus extras, such as MSN Messenger, Flash/Shockwave, Java, the Google toolbar, extra backgrounds, extra screensavers and more! See each release's thread for exact details.

Can I slipstream XP SP2 into my XP install disc using AutoPatcher?

No, however you can do this using AutoStreamer - AutoPatcher's little brother.

Can I slipstream the hotfixes contained in AutoPatcher into my XP install disc using AutoPatcher or AutoStreamer?

Not yet. This is planned for the next version of AutoStreamer, but for now you can use nlite.

Can I include/slipstream AutoPatcher as a whole onto my XP install disc?

Yes, you can. You will need to setup an unattended installation, though.

When will the next version of AutoPatcher be released?

This depends. It usually comes very soon after Microsoft releases their monthly updates on "Patch Tuesday", however sometimes this release is delayed. Depending on whether or not significant updates to AutoPatcher have been made, there may or may not be a release for a particular month.

Can I make requests for features?

Yes!
