Neowin Exclusive 5th Anniversary Set

I see.? So any DJ who's posting links on their page to a personal set should be locked up for copyright infringement?? Same thing would then apply to any Live-To-Air broadcast via FM radio as they do not pay rights as much as you claim they do (save stations like BBC).

I would then assume that passing along a demo to another DJ to evaluate their performance would then be dubbed illegal.

Or even sending out promotional copies of a new track, illegal.

There are so many gray areas that are being bent with DJ culture these days.? Notice every vinyl you have (including the 4pack Tiesto LE) says right on it not to be used for distribution.? So anytime you were to play it live on radio it technically breaches that contract.? However it's done all the time, and even the RIAA knows that this goes on.? It is no infringement and it is not illegal.? Not to mention I provided a full tracklisting of all songs included so if anybody likes the tracks they can purchase them on their own.

Also be aware that I have contacted many of the artists that this was to be released on this website and received about 90% approval rate, the rest have not returned my e-mail.

Another grey area is that when you mix the music together, especially on vinyl, the compilation becomes a performance of yours which allows you to distribute this perfoas long as you do not sell it whatsoeverver. This is why DJ Rectangle did some time in jail. He was slangin his mixtapes of some artists who did not appreciate him makin money off of it. If you do sell it, then it is copyright infringement. Royalties also play a role into this as well. You may be able to gain permission from the labels of the artists to sell your performance on CD, but you are required to pay royalties for any copies sold.

If you are a big enough DJ, some artists don't care if you hand out mix CD's because it gets them publicity. The only downfall, is you can get in deep doo doo if you try to sell the CD's. It's a catch 22. You want people to recognize your skills and possibly make some extra cash for it but artists don't want you to use their original work as your source of income because it dips into their kool-aid. That leaves the DJ needing to secure gigs to spin live for pay, which is difficult to do with all of the other DJ's tryin to do the same. There is tons of competition.

I miss my tables. I had a pair of SL1210 MK2's and a Rane TTM56. I mainly spun hip hop, but was known in my area for mixing up hip hop with dance, breaks, house, and trance. I have a mix set of mine somewhere on CD with one of these mixes... I think it is around 26 tracks and just under 80 minutes long. That CD helped land me many a gig due to my ability to cross mix genre's and keep it sounding good.

I will scope this mix when I get home from work. I love listening to well done mix sets by good DJ's.

It should be easy enough to make a cue sheet for this, problem is I'm not familiar enough with the songs in the mix to be able to tell when one stops and the other starts.

So I really need someone who can tell me what the track lengths are.

I have the cue sheet made up and it's working:

problem is as I have said before I'm not familiar enough with the songs used to accurately give the correct times for the tracks.

If someone could provide the track times I would be more than happy to post the cue sheet here.

I'm suprised that nobody has noticed that all the cd cover track listings as well as on Chris's site and the first post are missing track 8 :)

I guess some people will have to get PS out and sort them :)

    • The FIFA World Cup is not US centric.
    • It’s amusing how Microsoft is pushing IT admins as if this was a major, game-changing update. In reality, it’s just an enablement package that bumps the build number, which is disappointing compared to the more substantial 22H2 and 24H2 releases. Technically, 25H2, 26H1, and the upcoming 26H2 are essentially the same, differing only in support schedules. They could have included the Windows K2 improvements here, but chose not to. The era of Windows being in the backburner continues, and this 26H2 release feels like an afterthought. Shame, Nadella, shame.
    • Microsoft, totally not confusing /s 25H2 - Current for non-Arm based Windows 26H1 - Current for Arm based Windows 26H2 - Only for non Arm Windows
    • After I installed those, my older but capable Win 11 laptop (16GB RAM) reported it as 26H2 26300.8697. Then I installed it on my big laptop (128GB RAM! Hehe sorry), it reported it as 25H2 26220.8690. Ugh. Do I have to switch Insiders channels from Release to Beta?
