Kr0z
I don't and don't understand why it's needed. Tipping is not really something that I have come accross in australia but seems big in the U.S. Some even expect it, but why should they? Unless exceptional service is provided. :/
shthead
I don't tip here (Perth, Australia), and its not common at all.
Aids
well, i'm a waiter at a bar in my neighborhood, and we get paid $2.50 an hour.. we rely on tips. no idea why we get paid so little and we get tips, but waiters are under minimum wage, so you better tip! Doli
some places pay people very little because they expect them to make up in tips. Also if it was you on the other end, tips sure would help you out

black.ops
Only if they don't spit in my food or something. I had one AWFUL waiter (everything took 2 hours to come to us, and then it was always the wrong order), who even asked if we left a tip. Screw him. username
of course, tipping is generally only for jobs where the people require it to supplement their low pay
Jeremy1
Always. I've tipped 50% on rare occasions when the waitress was hot and did an awesome job. :D But usually I give the standard 15-20%, unless the service is terrible.
Jeremy1
2.50$ an hour? Slave Labor!!?: 586624230 They get tips on top of that, so they end up with much more at the end of the day. That's just how it works in the US.
NoneAvail
i work as a busboy at fathers restuant and i get tipss regulary i work overnight sometimes when its busy i make around 30-50 tip sometimes... thats good enough for a 15year old
HellBender
Yeah. Its extremely rude if you're in the US and you don't tip. Any time a service is offered to me, I always tip a minimum of 10%, even when the service is pretty bad. Generally, if the service is average, I'll tip 15%. And, if the service is exceptional, I'll do 20%. We tipped the waitress at Hooters about 80%, though
IlliniPi
Mostly all servers in the U.S. rely on tips for their salary. They usually make a low wage ($2-5 an hour) and then get a certain percantage of their tips.

HeartsOfWar
despite the low wage, a good waiter will usually end up making 8.00 to 12.00 dollars an hour with tips. And that's exactly why I tip SPARINGLY.
Doli
Its nice to tip, working for a moving company i get about a $20 tip, the most was $100 ( happened 3 times).
Nexus
I do, unless someone is really bad at his/her job 586624221 Same here. I tip anywhere from 5% to 20% depending on the quality of service. Some years ago I was a waiter at a restaraunt and got paid $ 2.00 an hour, so what I made in tips was my income for the most part. One year we hosted a party for a constrction company. The boss of this company said what ever his employees wanted to give them. Well by the end of the night they tallied an $1,800 bill. 3 of us worked strictly to cater to this party and the cheap *ss left us a $ 50.00 tip for 3 of us, thats $16.67 a piece for 6 hours of busting our hump to cater to their needs. Kupo-Cheer
Having worked a job where I could actually recieve tips, and seeing how incredibly nice it was to get a little extra money, I normally tip now, and tip generously. But I really don't see where tipping is necessary unless you are treated exceptionally nice by the person you intend to tip, therefore a tip is warrented. Mostly people seem to expect tips too much to the point where, as in waiter/waitress jobs, they are actually paid the minimum wage possible because the people are actually required to leave tips. When it becomes a requirement, it ruins the whole point. May as well stop being stingy and actually pay your employees something more than slave wages. super_evil_8_ball
I work as a bartender on the weekends and from having that job I tip alot more than I used to (from 30 to 50 percent). Also if you frequent somewhere quite often, tip a little and see if the service you get improves. Believe me, the bigger the tipper the better I remember them. grimman
No. And unless the job is bloody exceptional it won't happen either. Their low pay is definitely not a problem of mine.
goodcase
Yep, and im a fairley resonable tipper. Me and a couple of buddys went for breakfast at the mall beside my school. They have family type resturent. The meal came to $28 something and i left a 7.00 dollar tip. I think thats fairley resonable.
