I agree, if your company pay you that sort of money and rake in huge profits I suggest you get down the job centre and find something that pays better.

what a stupid attitude. you've obviously never had to struggle in your life, too bad, because it might have made you a more compassionate person.

Taxi drivers: The change if it's less than a ?1, otherwise none. I won't delibrately tip.

Delivery guys: The change if it's less than ?2, otherwise no. I won't delibrately tip.

Hairdressers : The change. It's always ?9, so she get's ?1.

Restaurant: 10%-15% always.

Buskers: ?1 if I have it.

Beggers: ?1 if I have it.

Pubs / Bars : Never.

Don't make assumtptions about what I have and have not done.

I have lived on the streets, I have been homeless, I have worked cleaning factory floors to get me through education, I have lost my home due to being layed off a few years ago and struggled to do crap paid jobs till I found a better paid rather than keeling over and living on benefits.

I won't go into the rest of the crap I have been through in my near 37 years of life, so once again take it back.

First of all, this is not a personal conversation between me and you and there is nothing to "take back". I think your attitude sucks, and I didnt' direct my comments at you personally, just your attitude. And don't pm me anymore, please.

Not everyone is like you, public welfare/assistance IS needed for certain individuals, it would be nice to believe everyone can just suck it up and get "a job" but this is not possible for society (although it should be encouraged of course.)

So you still have to deal with those individuals who make 2 bucks an hour and tips and can't get a better job, by helping them out and tipping them. And you even should try to help those who cannot be employed period. This requires social welfare programs you rail against, or people giving out of the goodness of their hearts (fat chance of that)

Not to hijack this thread with this, but I'm not saying the programs we have now are perfect. They certainly need to be overhauled, but not completely removed (like the US wants to do) However, that is a discussion for a different thread.

Hairdressers: Always (Been using the same one for years)

Restaurant: Always 10-15%

Buskers: Never but I should do really

Beggers: Never but I should do really

Pubs/Bars: Never and don't see why I should

    • But they will be the first asking for a bail out the moment crap goes sideways. Its just a matter of time with this AI thing unless skynet gets us first.
    • I'm so conflicted with the Google Search AI summaries. On one hand I don't like how it's harming smaller websites by greatly reducing traffic which will harm us all in the long run but on the other hand those AI summaries often give me the information I'm after. I have never once clicked on 'show me more' though and never will.
    • Not a single company as small or large it may be is obligated to subsidize its products and sell them at a loss. Your way of thinking is socialist and as a West German with a German brother state but impoverished by state dictatorship and a socialist command economy situated to the East i can tell you - this kind of thinking very quickly leads to products not being produced anymore at all. EDIT: That does not mean that I find state support for social needs unreasonable. Quite the contrary. Together with solid workers' rights we exactly had exactly that in Germany for decades in the form of the Sozialstaat which was as the scandinavian social democratic very successful - until the number of people who drew from those resources dramatically increased (ironically a project of social democrat and green proponents).
