"CELL offer twice the processing power of X360"

Let the flames begin....

It's the games that will make or break the consoles. You can have all the hardware in the world and have crap games that no one will buy. Now, I'm not saying Halo is crap, but I wouldn't drop that kind of money only to see the same FPS with prettier graphics. Game innovation is the key.

BTW, I vote for Coke...

The next and only other advantage I see is the hd the xbox has but then really that isnt advantage since microsoft decided to make to different verisons of xbox360 instead of making it standard, and now  I wonder if game developers are going to incorporate it in there game more then just getting updates. So I would like your opinion dhan, besides xbox live what other advangates do you feel the xbox360 will have over the ps3?

I assume "XBOX360 Core system" won't be marketed as much as the "XBOX360 System". Also if you shopped anytime in a store, you will know that many "ignorant" people who will buy the core system will be convinced to buy some accessories. And HDD being on of the costliest :D I will count on BestBuy to make sure everybody has a HDD.

Also it is made clear that lack of HDD will not hamper game play. With HDD it might "enhance". Although this is all marketing speak. I cant be sure of it.

I have no opinion for PS3 & XBOX360 (of which is better). whatever suits you, you should buy it. I would only suggest that don't buy PS3 because Sony says its "twice" as fast as Xbox360. Thats Bull**** and you know it.

As for me, I used to own xbox (currently have no console) and I am mostly buying XBOX360 because the controller suits "me" better and Halo 1/2/3...n won't show up on PS3 in near future. I personally think XBOX S controller is the best out there (I do mostly FPS). I tried playing KillZone & SCChaosTheory on PS2 and the controls are terrible. (Apart from the fact that KillZone as a game sucks)

And so far Microsoft has delivered on its console promises (except for wireless  )

I'm going to buy the Xbox360 the day it's released. The main reason I'm getting the Xbox360 is the fact that it's going to be released this year. The sooner I get a next gen console, the better. I don't care if the PS3's cell processor is twice as fast as the Xbox360 one. According to Sony, the PS2 was supposed to be better than the Xbox. Turns out it's the reverse. I am in no way an MS/Sony fanboy. I might get the PS3 if I have enough money left over.

Yay a free version that doesn't let you play online when you want to.

PS3 comes out after the Xbox 360 and will most probably be more expensive. So it would be strange if it isn't at least a little bit more powerful.

586628123

and 8$ a month is a high price...anyway sony has invested bilions on it to bo only twice fast over the 360's...and as for x360 MS didnt pute any money on their G5 apple developed for them :p , and i think sony has got too much in that hardware power fight :pinch:

Did you guys check this Toshiba video that uses the Cell processor, so cool:

http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/videonews/fnn...nn-bus_all.html

And Coke does taste better then Pepsi.

*Edit: Damn the URL for the video changed, I will see if I can find it elsewhere. Pretty neat looking demo of some guy sitting in front of the camera and you see his face on a computer monitor and the cell chip starts to morph his face as he talks.

The dreamcast was up to par with PS2 in the time of PSX and n64, but dreamcast faded away quite quickly. Wasn't it about a year after the PSX n64 era? Isn't PS3 going to be about 7 or 8 months after the 360 launch?

Hmm, just some thoughts.

In my opinion, I'd say that sony has a huge advantage simply because its' release date is timely enough/far behind the x360. time enough to analyze the competition and accelerate on all levels needed to land ontop. sony will remain top-dog over microsoft in the console wars.

that said, its kinda scary at the same time being it's a totally different strategy being used by sony. sony usually always releases first and blasts off with great games on release. leaving competition with less attention on their rls dates. Though, i think it's a strategy thats going to keep them ontop.

I own both and xbox and ps2. if i have to choose, it would have to be the ps2 for many reasons but simply for the wide selection of great games.

I have to disagree with the above. I have both XBox and PS2 and GNC. Xbox is by far a superioir game platform, and ps2 controllers have the joysticks in very awkward places. Xbox more fun games if you ask me. PS2 has GT4 and Devil May Cry and God of War? Xbox is just too many to list besides the obvious Halo 1/2, Forza Motorsport, Monkeyball, KoTOR, Ninja Gaiden, Crimson Skies, Panzer Dragoon Orta, MotoGP3. I could go on all day of games I love to play on the Xbox, but I dont think I could list as many on the PS2.

And Coca-Cola CEO says Coca-Cola taste twice as good as Pepsi.

586627693

Amen brotha... didnt think you would come out with something like that lol ;)

Anyways anything that comes out of the Mouth of Sonys Overconfident CEO's mouth makes me cough and sneeze.

:x :x :x

Sorry im just allergic to bullsh*t.

If you want morphing, go to www.microsoft.com/xna and go to the media section for the morph video. This is done with XNA Software on a PC back in 2004. MS doesnt need to have a cell processor. Realize though that I dont know what this video looks like, so i cant really compare.

C'mon man, you gotta be kidding. Only thing I agree with you on is that the xbox IS the superior machine of any present consoles. But to say that the xbox has more fun/quality games than the ps2 is just nonsense. I must have a cd lodge with about 200 ps2 games in it compared to the 20 xbox games i have.

586628562

I would say his argument is subjective. Apart from the point he was making...what do you play more often...all 20 games or only a fraction of the 200 ps2 games you have.

To be honest, the only thing my xbox has been powered up to do much of lately, is to watch a DVD Movie. I play my ps2 a whole lot more than my xbox. Games are released just about everyday it seems on the ps2. the last couple of games i recently played were... marvel nemesis, mk shaolin monks, burnout revenge, ultimate spiderman, hulk, darkwatch, nba2k6, i can go on and on and these are titles released within a months time.

well that settles it for you then. :D

you should try Chaos Theory if you like that kind of games

yeah, thats kindof what i meant. PS2 has a crapload of japenese games I would never pick up, and a lot of games that I cant even pronounce. Xbox on the other hand has tons of fun games. If I were to say I played PS2 more often, I would be lying, but I do pick up all of its top-notch games like God of War, GT4, but thats all I have really been impressed with lately. I think that it has some good games commin out this month (shadow of collosis, Soul Calibur 3, Socom 3), but SC3 is even commin out for Xbox, so...

Xbox has Doom 3:ROE, Worms 4, L.A. Rush, besides all the other games that are on both platforms (TH American Wasteland, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, SSX On tour

I could not have said it any better. Most of us know what kind of graphics we would be getting from Xbox 360. We have seen screenshots and movies. Gamespot and ign has articles that explains what kind of graphics we will be seeing on 360. I haven't seen anything like that for PS3.

here's one for you. sony lie. they've done it before with practically every bit of hardware they've ever released. add to that ****ing abysmal after sales support, and poor quality of certain hardware product lines. the fact sony are coming out and saying this, and slagging off their competitors... AGAIN, is further proof (if any were needed) that sony are starting to cack their pants about the next round of the console wars.

if sony could just get on and do the job at hand instead of bad mouthing competition, and acting like kids they would demand a hell of a lot more respect from people - me especially.

probably also worth pointing out that ceo's and managers are hardly the best placed to make technical comparisons of anything above blackberries. a conversation at sony probably went like this

stinger - "wtf, this 360 looks amazing, and they're ready to release in less than 2 months."

some marketing guy - "but ps3 is amazing!!!!"

stringer - "how amazing?"

some marketing guy - *shrug*.. "uhm... twice..as... uhm.. good.. as... 360?"

stringer - "hrmm.... good. i can use that! here's a raise!"

    • TeraCopy 4.0 Build 28 by Razvan Serea TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed, also providing you with a lot of features. Copy files faster. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives. Pause and resume transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click. Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer. Interactive file list. TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files. Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual. TeraCopy is free for non-commercial use only. For commercial use you need to buy a license. The paid version of the program includes the following features: Copy/move to your favorite folders. Save reports as HTML and CSV files. Select files with the same extension/folder. Remove the selected files from the copy queue. Features added since version 3.17: Enhanced speed graph. New multi-threaded copy engine. Support for copying to multiple targets. Queue system for managing multiple copy operations. Support for receiving files via the LocalSend protocol. TeraCopy entry in the modern Windows Explorer context menu. Integrated toolbar in the title bar. Why receive LocalSend transfers with TeraCopy? Handle file conflicts: Skip, overwrite, or rename files when a file with the same name already exists. LocalSend always creates another copy, which can waste time and disk space, especially when resuming an interrupted transfer. Filter unwanted files: Apply ignore lists or remove files manually before accepting a transfer, so unnecessary files are not downloaded. Better performance on fast networks: In tests over a 10 Gbps connection, TeraCopy received files several times faster than the standard LocalSend app on Windows. TeraCopy 4.0 Build 28 changelog: Fixed a bug where Overwrite behaved as Overwrite All during same-drive move operations. AdvancedInstaller fixed the installer’s security vulnerability: EXE Bootstrapper resolved the %appdata% location incorrectly for the System account.
