Have you removed the previous version of AutoPatcher? Keep in mind that you must do that before you "install" the new release!

About your "problems":

After my first install I ran into some other problems:

- De controle op "Vrije schijfruimte" uitschakelen.....didn't work...

- Klopt, mijn fout!

It does work, for some tweaks it's recommended that you do a reboot.

And the Windows Restart wasn't announced! I was working in Notepad to write down these problems while running Autopatcher and suddenly Windows Restarted!

(NO not a BSOD or something like that, It really restarted without my authorisation!)

After the second install (because of the problems described above) it also Restarted without notification. Very frustrating!

It won't start without your action. It depens on what button you "pushed".....

So far my experiences. Sorry for the terrible English style, I haven't got any experience in writing logical story's in English.

Don't worry about your English!

We mochten toch gewoon Nederlands praten? Dan lijkt me dat wel zo makkelijk ;)

Overigens puik stukje werk DaFlapDrol ;)

586690548

Mag jij Nederlands praten? Van wie dan? LOL!

Who said that you may speak Dutch? LOL. What I'm doing is against the rules of this forum. Other users can't understand what you are asking and what I'm writing to you. Making things available in Dutch, etc. I have started it to give you all support and answer all your questions at the official AutoPatcher forum your own language!

And thanks for you compliment about the Dutch Release!

Update:

@supertrooper

i dont know if this is asked before.. but, does this version also work on my XP Home install?

coz i saw one of the first topics wich asked us wich versions we wanted.. and it didnt said Home or anything..

@crashdummy

Did it work for you?

No comments?

No faults?

or...?

Thanks for your posting here, I'll take a look at it (when my system is back in the air)!

update:

<DUTCH>

</DUTCH>

<ENGLISH>

Installed on my system and works perfectly, no problem with AutoPather. Do you have admin rights? Did installed the August version too? If yes, then you must deleted the previous one before installing the new one.

Thanks for the post at the first place!

Now, did you removed the previous version (aug) of AutoPatcher before installing the new release (oct)?

If you want to be sure that this error (Error msg is that I dont have the admin rights to install) is caused by the installation of AutoPatcher then you can download the MSN messenger from http://messenger.msn.com if you still have the same problem. Then you know that something else is the problem.

Edited by DaFlapDrol

yeh I did :) (using the uninstall button)

@ gathering of tweakers the ones that have the same prob, all installed aug version. Perhaps its a "gebruikers accounts wachtwoordenbeheer windows2000 interface" problem, since I've installed that one @ aug version. Still...its not that much of a problem, but a solution would be nice :)

I used all the ways to try and install msn

- using auto update from msn

- using the activex install

- downloading the .exe file

On tweakers some ppl say its an msn installer prob.

Did you removed the August release before installing the October Release?

It's important that you do that!

still...it didnt remove all previous installed components, since win2k user interface is still there

586739911

When you remove AutoPatcher it will only remove the files in the directory where you installed AutoPatcher. It doesn't mean that all the items installed with AutoPatcher are uninstalled.

Now for undo of the tweak "gebruikers accounts wachtwoordenbeheer windows2000 interface" you have to use the "tweak undo" located in the \tools directory where you installed AutoPatcher.

btw, concerning your first post about the problems installing MSN messenger.....I need to do some tests here. It worked.......

update:

Just installed the MSN messenger by AutoPatcher (October Release)...... and it works like....a charm!

Edited by DaFlapDrol
bah...dunno whats wrong :(

cant undo the tweak either...

I've logged in as adminitrator... get same prob

On my other PC, it installs too

586739973

Are you talking about "gebruikers accounts wachtwoordenbeheer windows2000 interface"? You want to undo that?

Make a list about the problems and the things you want to undo. Let me know by PM!

Edited by DaFlapDrol

I don't even know if thats the problem :)

(and no, I cant undo the win2k stuff)

But its not a big problem. Rest works fine. Guess I'll stick with MSN 7 :)

( http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_m...e%2Cmsn%2C7%2C5 ) <-- here another one with the same prob btw

lol, just relax :p

its saturday, don't want you to get all worked up over some weird problem :)

since it hasn't been reported since Aug, I guess its something I did wrong myself.

Keep an eye on this article from MS.

posts merged - triple post! - theblazingangel

Hey, the MSN-problem occurs randomly at different PC's here with AutoPatcher. At neither of them I installed the patch of the Win2000 wachtwoordenbeheer :s

BTW, I use this command to install AutoPatcher:

"C:\Program Files\AutoPatcher\AutoPatcher.exe" /skipreboot /defaults:C:\Program Files\AutoPatcher\Answers.ini

Works like a charm (ofcourse AFTER putting my answers.ini in the right directory ;) )

    • Are they marketed as an entry into astronomy or astrophotography? I do astrophotography. With big rigs, lots of computers, cables and headaches. I love it. And by learning this ridiculously complex hobby, I’ve learned about the objects I’m shooting. Astronomy followed from photography.
    • Microsoft confirms Recycle Bin bug across all versions of Windows by Usama Jawad A couple of days ago, we reported that the latest Patch Tuesday update has seemingly resulted in a lot of issues for many users, including OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, and BSODs. Although Microsoft is yet to acknowledge these bugs, it has confirmed another, relatively smaller issue across all supported versions of Windows. In an update on its Windows Release Health Dashboard, Microsoft has confirmed that after installing June's Patch Tuesday update (KB5094126), you'll experience unexpected behavior when leveraging Recycle Bin. Basically, when you attempt to delete an item from the Recycle Bin, the confirm dialog will show you the internal file name of that content rather than the actual name. For example, the file may be named abc.png, but the confirm dialog will ask if you're sure that you want to permanently delete $Rxxxxx.png from the Recycle Bin. This is pretty much it for the scope of the bug itself; it just displays the wrong name in the confirm dialog. The correct name will be shown in the list view of the Recycle Bin and if you restore the file, it will return with the correct name as well. This issue affects pretty much all supported versions of Windows client and server, including: Client: Windows 11, version 26H1; Windows 11, version 25H2; Windows 11, version 24H2; Windows 11, version 23H2; Windows 10, version 22H2; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 Server: Windows Server 2025; Windows Server 2022; Windows Server 2019; Windows Server 2016; Windows Server 2012 R2; Windows Server 2012 As things currently stand, Microsoft is working on a concrete solution that will be released in a "future" Windows update. It remains to be seen if the firm will wait till the next Patch Tuesday or roll out an out-of-band (OOB) fix. The good news is that commercial customers can deploy a workaround right now, but they will have to reach out to Microsoft Support for Business for additional details.

    • A study by physicist Henry Tye of Cornell University suggests that the universe may not expand forever. Instead, it could eventually stop expanding, begin contracting and end in a "Big Crunch" roughly 20 billion years from now. Maybe not as we now know that time can flow backwards.
    • Of course. Simply reverse the polarity.
