PHP is really faster then J2EE

Question

maxsquared

I am a Java programmer, and I created a project for emailing used javamail api, and I used 2 months to do the project, now, I just tried php to create a web app with the same functionality(with interests and it really is fast, normally, with a mailbox with 500 messages, the J2EE program needed at least a minute to get all the header file, but with the php, it took me 5 seconds, almost instant, I am going with php now....

I know it's a bit unfair to say about one programming language, with just one example, but the speed of php is really amazed me.

Java is known for taking extra time to compile, collect garbage, etc... .Net does alot of what Java does but faster as well... :) Dont get me wrong Java is a great thing, but there are defineatly other options that perform better.
