Galley Posted October 28, 2005 Share Posted October 28, 2005 I live in Greenville, SC home of Shoeless Joe Jackson who has the 3rd-highest lifetime batting average in the history of Major League Baseball. Our minor league baseball team needed a new name and they chose to call the team the "Joes". Well, MLB didn't think that was proper since he supposedly conspired to throw the 1919 World Series. We wanted to honor our most famous citizen but Bud rejected us. Now we have to be stuck with the really gay name, the Greenville Drive. It's just a name I don't see what the big deal is.
