p.s. I tried Ion3, it's so confusing and difficult! I'm glad I was even able to launch an Gnome Terminal, which allowed me to launch Firefox and Konqueror, and it took me 15 minutes to figure it out. I don't know how Sentio can do it, he is so good adapting (and you thought setting up that was bad, wait till you see my FVWM...UGH!)

If you lock the panels they will disappear. There is a way to do it in the KDE settings but I can't find it anymore. :(

Right click panel > configure panel > tab appearance > advanced options > applet handles > default is visible > fade out is that its only visible if you hover the mouse above the separators > Hide is that the separators are gone.
