Also, I was a Democrat before, but I became a Republican, and now I am completely lost. What do you guys think?

My idea:

Republicans accentuate on national security, funding national debt, and *Power* After watching Fahrenheit 9/11, I turned neutral. Plus, Republican presidents like the notorious Nixon, the two before FDR, George H Bush, and Ronald Reagan (O.K.) had been fairly unsuccessful, with the exception of Abraham Lincoln.

Democrats are too liberal and have a self-righteous attitude that is unacceptable. As of late, the Democratic Party has been imploding due to a lack of leadership. Back in the old days, FDR, JFK, and Clinton were all outstanding leaders. In other words, all of US' greatest presidents had been Democrats.

As of this moment, I am still a conservative, but am a little ashamed of what the Republicans' recent accomplishment.

I am a conservative Republican. I am not happy with the spending policies of this administration, but I think the deficit reduction act was a step in the right direction. I also don't like the lack of conservative action in government, but I think the nomination of Alito is also a step in the right direction. I am happy with the tax cuts, and the stopping of liberals nuts who want "under God" out of the pledge and other people like that.

I am a member of the AMERICAN PARTY also known as the Republican party! The party of patriots the party of common sense. Most importantly, the party of our LORD and savior.

The traitor and coward party, the democrats, need to do the honorable thing and disband. Democrats will NEVER win ANY election ever again because America sees that the Republican party is the one TRUE American party.

Do your patriotic duty and vote Republican down the line in 2006 and 2008!

You are right, in some ways. However, I do believe that tax should be much higher because the US owes a couple of trillion Dollars now.....

Bush's environmental policies are also fairly disappointing.

586841667

No, we just need to cut spending. Some of the things we are spending money are ridiculous. As for his environmental policies. I support them, when a company gets fined for dumping in a lack 85 years ago, people lose jobs. The government should work to help companies solve environmental problems, not fine them out of thier future. Remember, we have to face the cold reality that when a company loses money, they would much rather lay off workers than decrease corporate perks. There is still accountability.

My idea:

You shouldnt define yourself by a party, but rather by your beliefs and morals. So one year you may favour the republician side and the next the democrats. Because when it comes down to it, you dont have to justify your beliefs my aligning yourself with a party. This also avoids all the feeling of obligation that one may feel when voting. So instead of voting for the party that you call yourself, you are voting for the one who you will think will be the best for the job and agree with the most.

Also as a 'more liberal/leftist' I found Michael Moor's Fahrenheit 9/11 a load of twisted c*** put together in a way only he can do. He totally ignored what you are supposed to do in a documentary, take a neutral side, and made it into a 1 1/2 hr bash fest against Bush. Now while I dont agree with most of Bush's policies, I did find that the movie was unfair and pretty one sided.

That's a good example why I would never vote for republicans if I was an American EVER

Although too much taxes are bad, it's crazy to lower your taxes even more unless you are going to gain some SERIOUS money from Iraq soon.

BTW don't take Michael Moore so seriously  he's a comedian for crying out loud!

tax should be much higher

There should be a flat income tax regardless of income. No more of this pay higher percent because you earn more crap that the leftists installed over the years. Success should not be punished.

Republican. I don't fall into the very religious sect though I do feel there should be some discretion there. I don't agree whole heartedly with everything that any republican agenda does, but I find myself agreeing with them more than I do their counterparts. I'm very much into conservative fiscal policies as well.

BTW RunningKing7, don't let Fahrenheit 9/11 sway any of your beliefs. The movie discredits the word 'documentary' and should be considered mere opinion. Its all based on half truths that were stretched out, retold, and touched up with incredible bias. Everything in that movie can be proved wrong.

RFire - Voting republican down the line is just foolish. Take some political classes to see how the government needs to have stability and opposing views to create compromises and ensure everyone's rights are protected.

Republican - Although party name doesn't define who a person is. I agree with many Democrats, and disagree with many Republicans. Regardless of which side you tend to agree with more, look at what the issues are and then decide.

For example, Abortion, Tax Cuts, The Iraq War, Enviornmental Policies.

Just saying you hate Bush or hate Democrats makes you look like a fool and doesn't even warrant a response 99% of the time because you appear to have no opinion of you own and simply follow whatever ideals you are told.

Back during the '04 Election, many of my friends asked me about the political issues because I would tell them from an unbiased standpoint. They know where I stand, but at the same time were free to choose for themself which option they prefer without my slanted viewpoint.

I'm actually surprised to see more Republicans than Democrats on this thread so far, although I'm sure that will change soon - the internet contains far more individuals on the left, being one who likes Democrats or just hates Bush.

To comment on icecaveman's response: Its actually not crazy. With all of the tax cuts we've had, we've actually collected MORE tax revenue. The reason is because those who get a tax break (not just the high rich, janitors I know got a tax rebate) spend their excess money on goods and services. Capitalism at its finest folks...

There should be a flat income tax regardless of income. No more of this pay higher percent because you earn more crap that the leftists installed over the years. Success should not be punished.

haha, make more money but pay the same taxes as the lower income family's? hahaha

good one!

NOT!

There should be a flat income tax regardless of income. No more of this pay higher percent because you earn more crap that the leftists installed over the years. Success should not be punished.

586841690

Totally agree. Everyone should pay the same percentage then there can be no complaints. Everyone is treated as an equal. The guy who makes $6.50 an hour gets taxed 10% lets say and therefore is really making $5.85 an hour. But the guy who is making $40.00 and hour is really making $36.00 an hour. Same percentage, but the wealthier person pays a bit more because they make more. If someone can argue how percentages are unfair, I'd like to see it...

Well said! I often find myself not knowing which to choose, but I just end up going with my intuition. On issues such as abortion, gay marriage, nuclear proliferation, Iraq War, I only agree with the Republicans on one. As for the removal of "under God" in the pledge, I have no problem with that since not everyone is religious. Nonetheless, I share more similar principles with the Democrats, but most of them, at least the ones I know of, are rediculously unintelligent. Many of them tend to "I say this" and "I'm not going to provide any proof." It's like saying, "Putin just slapped Bush," but "I'm just saying, go find out for yourself"

Wow. I think you should take a step back and look at how irrational you are being. Democrats will not ever win another election? Think again. America sees that the Republican party is the one true American party? That's why the last election was so close, right?

You also fail to realize that not everyone in the country is Christian. Sheesh.

A Christian Conservative Right-Wing Nut :p who most often votes with the Republicans because they agree with my stance on issues. I wouldn't be against voting Democrat, I've just never seen one on a ballot that I agreed with.

Who do you think protects those freedoms? Liberals? If liberals were in power after 9/11 we'd be suing al-Qaeda instead of fighting them! The Republicans are the only ones willing to protect us from the evildoers at the gates that want to take away our way of life.

586841780

Republicans use the excuse of terrorist attacks etc... to systematically remove the freedoms of the people. Blow up 2,000 people and it's easy to convince people that their rights are worthless.

    • JBL BAR 800 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos soundbar is an amazing deal today by Sayan Sen This Amazon Prime Day 2026 sales so far we have had a couple of nice deals related to sound and audio. First we have the Sennheiser HD 600 at its lowest ever price of just $225. Next we also have the Beats Studio Pro at its lowest price ever at just $150. However perhaps you prefer your gear to sound great on a larger scale, like throughout the room. In that case an all-in-one soundbar system can help and currently JBL's BAR 800 is a great deal for sure as it's up for grabs at just $600 (purchase link under the specs table down below). One thing that should be appreciated a lot about these JBL soundbars is their spec sheet and the frequency response data it provides. The firm is honest about it as JBL confirms the subwoofer is able to go down to 35 Hz at -6dB or F6. This means it should be covering 40Hz and up very well, where most of the bass lies. You miss out on a lot of sub-bass but that is to be expected given the price point and the subwoofer driver size. Speaking of which, it is a 10-inch driver and promises a max output power of 300 watts at 1% THD (total harmonic distortion). JBL also claims the system will provide you with a "True Dolby Atmos" experience. The surround speakers are wireless and battery-powered which means setting them up should be really convenient. The technical specs of the JBL BAR 800 are given in the table below: Specification Value Channel Configuration 5.1.2-channel soundbar system Dolby Atmos Yes, with 2 up-firing drivers Total System Power Output 720 W Soundbar Power Output 340 W Surround Speaker Power Output 2 × 40 W Subwoofer Power Output 300 W Soundbar Drivers 3 × 46×90 mm racetrack drivers, 3 × 20 mm tweeters, 2 × 70 mm up-firing full-range drivers Surround Speaker Drivers 1 × 46×90 mm racetrack driver (each speaker) Subwoofer Driver 10-inch (260 mm) wireless subwoofer Frequency Response 35 Hz – 20 kHz (-6 dB) Audio Inputs Optical, Bluetooth, Chromecast built-in, AirPlay, Alexa Multi-Room Music (MRM), USB* HDMI Inputs 1 HDMI video input HDMI Output 1 HDMI eARC output HDCP Version 2.3 HDR Pass-Through HDR10, Dolby Vision Bluetooth Version 5.0 Wi-Fi Version 6, 6E Streaming Services Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay, Alexa MRM Get it at the link below: JBL Bar 800-5.1.2-Channel Dolby Atmos soundbar with Detachable Surround Speakers (Black): $599.85 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US with Prime) Prime subscription can be cancelled within three business days. • Microsoft releases PowerToys v0.100.1, fixes a bug that made remapped keys misbehave by Ivan Jenic Microsoft just released PowerToys v0.100.1, a patch update that addresses several stability and behavior issues found in v0.100.0. The v0.100.0 patch was a significant update for PowerToys, as it introduced all sorts of new features and additions, such as a rebuilt Shortcut Guide, a Command Palette Extension Gallery, webcam overlay support in ZoomIt, and more. However, the v0.100.0 version also introduced some bugs and stability issues. And now, Microsoft is addressing these issues in the new patch. The most impactful fix in this release perhaps is in Keyboard Manager, where remapped modifier keys were being delivered as system-key events, causing unexpected behavior in apps. The clearest example of this was Alt-to-Backspace remaps, deleting whole words instead of a single character. So, if you thought there was an issue with your keyboard, Microsoft just confirmed that it was PowerToys. Beyond the Keyboard Manager fix, v0.100.1 also addresses several other issues. It fixes a bug with Power Display that was preventing monitors from waking from standby correctly. Additionally, the new update patches Quick Access crashes on launch, and resolves a Shortcut Guide crash that occurred when switching between sidebar sections. Here’s the full changelog: Color Picker Fixed a bug where the main Color Picker window could appear inside the zoomed-in picker view Command Palette Fixed Run history initialization in AOT builds Fixed a bug where the Performance Monitor dock item could show ??? after restart Fixed the Hibernate command using the Sleep icon Limited the "pin to dock" dialog to displays where the dock is enabled Keyboard Manager Fixed modifier keys remapped to non-modifier keys being delivered as system-key events, which caused unexpected behavior in apps such as Alt-to-Backspace deleting whole words Power Display Fixed a bug where selecting On in the monitor power-state control did not wake a monitor from standby Fixed built-in display detection and brightness control on dual-GPU laptops where the internal panel is driven by the discrete GPU PowerToys Run Fixed VS Code Workspaces discovery after VS Code moved recently opened workspace data to shared storage Quick Access Fixed Quick Access flyout crashes caused by unhandled XAML exceptions during launch or page navigation Shortcut Guide Fixed a crash when navigating between Shortcut Guide sidebar sections Fixed number-key rendering in shortcut manifests and added a Postman shortcut manifest Updated bundled shortcut manifests to use the literal number-key token so number keys render correctly across apps ZoomIt Fixed a race condition in audio initialization for ZoomIt video recording You can download PowerToys v0.100.1 from the official GitHub releases page.

    • Grand Theft Auto VI pricing revealed alongside Ultimate Edition and pre-loading details by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Last week, Rockstar revealed Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will be starting soon, and just a day ahead of that, now the studio has announced the official pricing for the highly anticipated game. This has been a hotly debated topic among fans and industry veterans for a long time, considering the game is expected to be the biggest entertainment product launch ever. The confirmed pricing for the Grand Theft Auto VI standard edition is $79.99, which Rockstar says gives access to the "single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet." This follows what most of our readers thought would happen with the pricing too. At the same time, a $99.99 Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition has been confirmed as well, which lands with "an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story." Pre-ordering will also give fans extra bonuses, including a Vintage Vice City Pack of cosmetic items as well as a free month of GTA+. Head to the official website of the game here to check out all the cosmetic rewards the Ultimate Edition and pre-orders bring. Interestingly, the studio does not mention Grand Theft Auto VI multiplayer at all in today's announcement. Perhaps this will arrive later, following the campaign launch, or the studio is keeping that reveal for a later date. Digital pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will begin on June 25, 2026, at midnight local time across regions for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. The title is slated to launch on November 19 on those same platforms. Pre-loading for Grand Theft Auto VI will kick off on November 12, giving players a week to get the game ready on their consoles. As for the physical edition, Take-Two has confirmed that this will be available without a disc, with the box only containing a download code inside. This will be purchasable starting November 12, giving players who take this route time to pre-load the title as well.
