I am a hardcore democrat. i believe in seperation of church and equal rights to every american citizen whether they are white, black, asian, mexican, muslim, or gay. all men are created equally and you should not judge them on who they are. i thought america already went through this time and i thought it was over. i guess not.

if you think that one party is THE AMERICAN party and is what all americans follow, then why dont you change the name of your party to The Communists or just join that party since they believe in a 1 party system.

Republicans have jumped on the religon bandwagon for there own benefit.

It wasent like this until the 70's.

Republicans have always been considered the "religious" right, so I think it is unfair to say that they have jumped on the religious bandwagon. The south has always been the Bible belt and always Conservative/Republican. As for me, I voted Conservative (Non-Republican) because I vote on issue and not party.

What would you say if you were a fairly bright boy raised by a poor family?

Most American parents save a lot of money just to get their kids to go to a good school, now what if your parents are losers and had nothing? The kid would have to work for it and could never afford to go to a good school of his dreams unless he got extremely lucky and made a lot of sacrifices. Now how is the kid who gets everything given into his hands from his rich parent not considered lazy when the poor boy works his behind off?

Thankfully for the Army this way gets a lot of new recruits...

The way I see republicans in general is most of them are quite short sighted, they think only about their own benefits, even though evidence points to harder times in the coming decades it usually gets neglected. Like they either have given up all hope for the future or delude them selves thinking everything will just automatically turn great.

I grew up in poor family and my parents weren't losers by any means. I joined to finish my education and I don't see why this should be looked down upon. I also serve with alot of poor AND middle class (even some that are rich) kids that are using the Guard/Army to finish their education. Thankfully for anyone who never joined the armed forces we have a volunteer force. If that ever stopped being the case... well lets just say draft.

Also, what is all of this nonsense about just the Republicans being evil or short-sighted? As far as I can tell all politicans think the way and neither party has a majority hold on stupidity. Besides if voting ever changed anything they would probably make it illegal.

The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it. ~P.J. O'Rourke

Putting too much of your opinion on the party rather than the position of a particular canditate is just plain stupid. How many times I've heard "I voted for Bush because I'm a republican" makes me want to vomit through my eyelids. (Ok, yes, I'm watching a Simpsons Halloween Special right now...)

Most importantly, the party of our LORD and savior.
There's that vomitting feeling again.

I do have to say that I have any alignment, it's Anti Religious Right. The vast majority of their positions worry me greatly about the state of things in our Politics.

I was just wondering why you were calling all "less fortunate" people lazy?

I thought you were against labeling people into stereotypical groups.

I just get tired hearing it when many rich people are born rich and do nothing ala Paris Hilton and some hard working people are called lazy.

The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn.? The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it.? ~P.J. O'Rourke

Good quote:rofl:l:

At least one certain Bush and he uses it in a way I think no politician should ever use any religion. It's DANGEROUS and brings up hate in people even more

586842033

Well now that 1 == many I really am worried about the future.

I generally find myself leaning towards conservative, tho' I can't think of any Republicans I'd vote for (except McCain). The Republican party of today is too team-minded, and their shared philosophy is not, by any stretch of the imagination, conservative.

At one time it was, but that changed long ago. Nowadays, both parties are entirely about expanding the federal government's dominion over the states. They also all seem to forget that government is about keeping social order, not getting religious on us. It baffles me that homosexuality is even talked about by politicians. Abortion I can understand, because it can be argued that it's killing someone (and argued that it isn't--I take no stance on the issue), but stuff like gay marriage? The hell?

The Republican party makes me very sad with how 'international' issues revolve around the war on terror, and 'domestic' issues revolve around whether teenagers should know about condoms.

The Democratic party...is on my side in a lot of matters, but their spirit disappoints me. Many members have balls, but it doesn't seem like any of them are in congress at the moment.

That would be awesome if people voted based on their own opinions, not because it is the "Christian way to vote Republican", or because "my family votes Democrat, so I do too," etc. I do not belong to a party although I am not old enough to register yet. However, when I do register I will not belong to a party - because it's pointless. I will vote for who has the same belief system as I do and who supports as many of the issues I support.

The poll sorta seems innacurate. Liberals can be Republicans or democrats, same for conservatives. Being democrat or republican is what party you affiliate with on a political/voting level, being liberal or conservative is a way of life. Thats why when people do or say things they are usually brought up as "well that was very liberal to do, or a very conservative remark"

I've given up, i'll never be a politician, too much red tape. I'd rather be a social political, and let it stay at that level. I'll still have my views, and when the time is right, voice them. Guess you could call me an open minded conservative, who isnt afraid to go moderate on some issues. I support our government, our troops, our president, the list goes on!

Before I clicked this link to get here, I figured half the pages were filled with Bush-Bashing, cause well, Neowin can be very liberal (its a big mesage board, its diverse). To those who would rather (and i quote alec baldwin here) "Leave the country" just cause of bush, rather than support him......all I can say is that you are hurting yourself. Another point: I hate Hillary Clinton, the woman gets on a few nerves, but if we was somehow elected in '08, I would supprt her. A country that doesnt support its leaders (and the amount of support is up to the supporter) is doomed to fail!

Somethin to ponder

Republicans have jumped on the religon bandwagon for there own benefit.

It wasent like this until the 70's.

Up until the last 50 to 70 years ago, both parties were, as you say, "on the religion bandwagon". Stop rewriting history.

PROUD REPUBLICAN.

I am a member of the AMERICAN PARTY also known as the Republican party! The party of patriots the party of common sense.? Most importantly, the party of our LORD and savior.

The traitor and coward party, the democrats, need to do the honorable thing and disband. Democrats will NEVER win ANY election ever again because America sees that the Republican party is the one TRUE American party.

Do your patriotic duty and vote Republican down the line in 2006 and 2008!

If you truly believe that then wow...

I'm defiantely doing my patriotic duty and not voting blindly as you are choosing to do... your probably one of those guys who don't even look at the candidates name on the voting ballot and just check everything you see that says republican. Truly pathetic.

Lord of the savior? Please... if christians are represented in the way we see bush and his little cabinent then I'm glad I'm not one.

Care to give me some reasons to why democrats are traitors and republicans aren't... seems to me like bush lied about a whole bunch of junk.. was a traitor to us (the american citizen).... but enough of that. Feel free to PM me and discuss my little question.

There should be a flat income tax regardless of income. No more of this pay higher percent because you earn more crap that the leftists installed over the years. Success should not be punished.

your signature says a lot about this remark - athlon fx55 and 42' plasma? hardly short of a penny are you? think about if you were born into a poor family, your opportunities are immediately much more scarce than if you are in a well off family, therby making your standard of living lower and your future earnings lower. the more disposable income you have, the less you need to spend, so it makes sense to have higher tax rates, especially for those with more money than they know what to do with.

Who do you think protects those freedoms? Liberals? If liberals were in power after 9/11 we'd be suing al-Qaeda instead of fighting them! The Republicans are the only ones willing to protect us from the evildoers at the gates that want to take away our way of life.

586841780

dont you think its ironic that youre talking about taking about "taking away our way of life" when your government is doing exactly that as we speak? not been watching the news recently? (and no, fox news and CNN dont count) well let me inform you, your government is trying to hush stories about how its been "interrogating" suspects in eastern european "black sites" hidden away from the worlds view - now why would they do that if they werent doing anything they shouldnt be, like torturing them? o yes and lets not get started on the patriot act, civil liberties dont really matter when "FREEDOM" is concerned do they? nevermind the fact you've been holding people without charge for over 3 years at guantanamo bay - what theyve done is so bad you cant even define it with words right? is that why you can hold them indefinetely? start learning about whats happening in the world from a news organisation that isnt in bush's back pocket, heres a good starting point BBC News

I agree partially with you. The guy you quoted has a lot to learn. There are faults on either side. I can see where he is coming from though, with the whole patriots things. Republican Conservatives embrace the "good ole days" when government was strict, simple, and decisive.

Our freedoms? Our freedoms were taken away with the patriot act. The governement can pretty much do whatever they want to you as long as they label you a terrorist (even when your not).

If it were black and white the act would be a good thing... you find a terroist and bang you can get them. However there is a TON of potential for abuse and wrong doing with this act.

    • GitHub removes manual model selection from Copilot free and student plans by Karthik Mudaliar GitHub is removing the ability to manually select an AI model from its Copilot Free and Student plans, making its automatic routing system the default and only way to choose a model. This means users on these tiers will no longer be able to deliberately select a particular OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Microsoft model for a task. In its announcement, GitHub said Copilot Auto will dynamically choose what it considers the best model for each request. Free and Student accounts will retain access to models from multiple families, although the available selection will continue to depend on the restrictions attached to each plan. GitHub did not identify a fixed pool of models that Auto will always use, and its documentation warns that model availability can change over time. GitHub describes Auto as more than a random fallback system. On supported surfaces, its task-optimization technology evaluates the complexity of a request alongside real-time information about model health and availability. Straightforward prompts can be routed to faster and less expensive models, while more demanding coding tasks may be sent to higher-cost reasoning models. The company says this approach should reduce rate limiting, latency, and failed requests. Auto generally selects one model along natural prompt-caching boundaries rather than repeatedly switching models during a session, as GitHub found that mid-session changes increased costs without producing sufficient improvements in output quality. Users can still check which model generated a response. In Copilot Chat, the information appears when hovering over an answer, while Copilot CLI and the Copilot cloud agent display the selected model alongside their output. Auto is available in Copilot Chat, Copilot CLI, and the cloud agent, with the exact implementation and release status varying between supported development environments. The latest restriction follows several months of adjustments to Copilot’s individual plans. GitHub temporarily halted new Pro, Pro+, and Student subscriptions in April as it sought to manage demand and service reliability. It later introduced token-based billing and began gradually reopening individual-plan registrations on June 17. Alongside the picker change, GitHub is retiring the “Preview” label from Microsoft-developed models. It argues that the label is no longer necessary because Auto handles model routing and models are continuously updated behind the scenes.

    • Google reportedly set to lose two key Gemini and DeepMind researchers to Anthropic by Karthik Mudaliar Google is reportedly preparing to lose two more prominent artificial intelligence researchers, with Gemini contributors Jonas Adler and Alexander Pritzel planning to join rival AI developer Anthropic. According to a report from Bloomberg, both researchers are viewed internally as important contributors to Google’s flagship Gemini model family. Adler worked on Google’s AI coding efforts, while Pritzel was involved in the process used to train AI systems. Neither company has publicly confirmed the moves. The report also does not say when the researchers will formally leave Google or what positions they will hold at Anthropic. Training a large AI model requires decisions covering its architecture, data preparation, distributed computing infrastructure, and post-training methods that shape how the finished system behaves. Researchers with experience operating at the scale of Gemini are consequently difficult to replace quickly. Both Adler and Pritzel have previously contributed to Google DeepMind’s scientific research as well. They are listed among the authors of the company’s work on expanding AlphaFold protein-structure predictions across entire proteomes, alongside AlphaFold researchers including John Jumper. The reported departures arrive shortly after another important change within Google’s Gemini organization. Gemini co-lead Noam Shazeer is leaving Google for OpenAI, after returning to the search company in 2024 through its deal with Character.AI. Shazeer is particularly well known as one of the authors of the Transformer paper, whose architecture became the foundation for most modern large language models. Anthropic, meanwhile, has been recruiting recognizable figures from other leading laboratories. OpenAI co-founder and former Tesla AI director Andrej Karpathy joined Anthropic’s pre-training team in May. His move, followed by the reported recruitment of several Google researchers, suggests Anthropic is strengthening the research teams responsible for the core capabilities of future Claude models rather than concentrating solely on product and enterprise sales. The competition is complicated by the companies’ extensive commercial relationships. Anthropic competes directly with Google’s Gemini models, but it also relies on Google as an infrastructure partner. In April, Anthropic announced an expanded agreement with Google and Broadcom covering multiple gigawatts of next-generation Tensor Processing Unit capacity. • Google adds built-in computer control to Gemini 3.5 flash by Karthik Mudaliar Google has added Computer Use as a built-in tool in Gemini 3.5 Flash, giving developers a single model that can reason about a task and operate graphical interfaces across browsers, mobile devices, and desktop environments. The feature is available through the Gemini API and Google’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, although it remains a preview feature for now. Computer Use enables an AI agent to examine screenshots and return actions such as mouse clicks, scrolling, and keyboard input. A developer’s application must execute those actions, capture the resulting screen, and send it back to Gemini, creating a continuous loop until the task is completed. Google says the integration can be used for activities including repetitive form filling, application testing, research across multiple websites, and longer enterprise workflows. Gemini 3.5 Flash can work with browser, mobile, and desktop environments, whereas Google’s earlier standalone Computer Use model was primarily positioned around browser interaction. The main change is consolidation. Computer control was previously offered through the separate Gemini 2.5 Computer Use preview model. As Neowin reported when that model was introduced, it was designed to interpret a visual interface and generate actions without requiring a website-specific API. Google later brought Computer Use to preview versions of Gemini 3 Pro and Gemini 3 Flash in January 2026. The latest release now incorporates the tool into the stable Gemini 3.5 Flash model rather than requiring developers to select a specialized model solely for interface automation. Gemini 3.5 Flash itself was announced in May as Google’s latest fast model for coding and multi-step agent workflows. It supports a one-million-token input context window and up to 65,000 output tokens, along with adjustable thinking levels that let developers trade additional reasoning for lower latency and cost. Google also added that Gemini 3.5 Flash received targeted adversarial training for computer-use scenarios. The company is also offering safeguards that can require user confirmation before sensitive or irreversible actions and automatically stop a workflow when suspected prompt injection is detected. Its developer documentation describes configurable protections for areas such as financial transactions and changes to sensitive records. Google isn't the first to bring Computer Use to its platform. Anthropic has made computer control available through Claude, while OpenAI has continued improving computer-use performance in its recent models. Microsoft has also applied the concept to business workflows, including a Computer Use capability for the Researcher agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot.
