sphere Posted July 27, 2002 Share Posted July 27, 2002 I am thinking of registering a domain with GoDaddy. It seems to be the cheapest out there with little fuss. Though I live in Australia, so it would cost double what it says ($8.95). I'm just wondering if there is anything I should look out for? jctn2 Posted July 27, 2002 Share Posted July 27, 2002 i transferred several domains to godaddy from the criminals at NSI/Verisigin. don't let the funny name dissuade you -- they're easy to work with & reliable. If they ever did go out of business, NSI/Verisign would take back over, but unfortunately, they're the backup for all of them. if you look at others, always do your research!! NSI/Verisign has taken to buying up some of the smaller registrars to help stem the tide... they are losing domains in droves. You want to verify they're not a subsidiary. There's a reason people are abandoning them -- it's the last company you want to deal with! go to Infoworld & look thru Ed Foster's GripeLine archives for articles on NSI/Verisign tactics -- he has several!
