I have another question, whish it can be answered.

I found that in FlyakiteOSX, several file format have been associated with external icon. For instance, png, jpg, gif and bmp, these icons are in the folder 'windows\flyakiteoOSX\fileicons\'. I just want to know how can it be done? Can i do it manually? :shiftyninja: Coz I want to associate my own icons for the different formats without modify the original exe file.. Thank you...

I installed V2 for an hour, the uninstalled it because it was really slow.

What you smoking fella? Flyakite doesn't install any software that runs in the background, or anything else sinister. All it does is to alter the graphics (replaces existing files with files that have had their graphics modified.)

I been running it since v 1.0 and still think it's the best thing since sliced guinness!!

I've got it installed and it's amazing. It's so much nicer than number 2, and number 2 was pretty amazing. :woot:

I'm just messing with you all...Can't wait for this to be released!

 :D

does anyone know when this is comin out? I can't wait :)

Well I spoke to him recently and he said that he's not too sure. Most of it is complete but he won't release something that has bugs. As soon as I have any idea of when it will be released i'll be sure to post her:D:D

Haha, I'm working on it. Like Kitch said, I am nearly done. The installer sits at a light 28mb, only 2.2mb larger than v2, which is not bad considering how much has been added AND I have integrated the SE (Special Edition) features with the smaller shell32.dll into v3, so there will only be one installer now.

I'm getting there, don't worry everyone. It will be soon.

flyakite nice! i don't know if its my eyes but i think version 2 and 3 is almost the same with a few changes in settings and the theme. It still dont have the "file edit" in the taskbar but i don't use it anyways so its ok. Hope you can post the new boot screen and log in screen, and maybe if it comes with firefox 1.5 theme a new power dvd and windows media player skin. i don't think theres a picasa 2.0 skin out there yet so im assumiing you remove it.

the good thing is if your comp has only 256 mb of mem it will still run as seen on flyakite sceenies hehe. Can't wait for the final version.

My only complaint is the horrible tool bars. They're so 10.1. You should try doing something with those. :D

They're not 10.1. They're Safari, and they are Safari for a reason. The way Mac toolbars work, the previous and next buttons are right next to each other. On XP this is not possible, so I went with the Safari toolbar set that Steve Grenier made up. It is very complete and it works well.

Then you are too concerned with aesthetics. You have to remember, FlyakiteOSX is made to look like OS X. OS X doesn't drastically change looks too often, so you need to look "beyond" visual aspects. LOTS has changed, not only internally but externaly. As for skins, I am NOT a skinner, and have stated this before. If someone wants an updated skin they either need to contact the author or make one themselves, lol. Picasa 2.0 is not skinnable from what I've seen so far. The way the system stores resources is entirely different. They used to be in some folder as raw image files, now they are embedded in a file and I have not figured out how to read or extract them yet.

    • Wow, imagine you dump hundreds of hours into completing things and unlocking stuff and you lose it all. Back in the day when cheats were built into games, you could at least unlock things again that way without spending hundreds of hours again. But those days are long gone for some reason as no one builds cheats into games anymore. So it's even more painful that studio that's on its 6th installment **** it up so badly.
    • Spotify finally removes the disco ball app icon in the latest update by Ivan Jenic Image: Spotify Spotify has just released an update that removes its now infamous disco ball icon. The update reverts the app icon to the familiar flat green logo after weeks of mixed reactions online. The icon arrived on May 13 as part of the company's 20th anniversary celebration and was always intended to be temporary, though Spotify only confirmed that after the backlash started. The disco ball took the internet by storm, as the reception was split. A vocal group of users called it ugly and disorienting, with some iOS users noting that the 3D glowing effect made the app look like it was stuck mid-update. On the other end, the icon picked up a following of its own. Its retro, three-dimensional look immediately stood out against the flat, minimalist aesthetic that has dominated app design for years. It even started a small movement, spawning what people started calling "discomorphism," a mashup of disco and skeuomorphism. Other brands started posting disco ball versions of their own logos, probably in an effort to ride the wave of memes that flooded the internet during late May. Spotify has had a turbulent relationship with its user base lately. Besides the disco ball icon, which certainly wasn't appreciated by everyone, the company has also received backlash for its willingness to include AI-generated music on its platform. On May 17, Spotify promised the old icon would return “in a few weeks.” And now it looks like that time has finally arrived. So, whether you liked the disco ball or it made you uncomfortable, it’s now gone for good. The next time you update the Spotify app on your phone, the old, flat-design icon will return.
