I see all these news on Firefox, Opera, etc.

BUT I tell you I tested them all and the best browser on earth is something else.

In Japan, we have a browser called Donut. In fact, it is a family of different versions. You have Donut Q, Donut R, Donut RAPT, etc. And I say Donut RAPT is THE BEST BROWSER ON EARTH. I just cannot imagine living without it.

I am sorry to say, though, that its website is in Japanese, though the software itself has English file. Donut browsers work on IE.

Otherwise, in Japan, we have also Slepnir and Lunascape that are not as good as Donut, but more users. Donut is rather for advanced users (too many things possible for novices). They are still better than Opera or Firefox. So, I am proud to say that Japan is the most advance country when it comes to browsers. :p

Why no links to the "Best browser on Earth?" To the english file?

Heh, the Japanese government paying you to shamelessly promote this propaganda? Or are you just very patriotic?

I have a feeling all the advanced browsers you mentioned are, quite simply, IE shells. Or Gecko based browsers.

Ummm...

So basically, you created your own IE shell and now want to see if anyone else wants to use it? Create buzz?

Sorry, but IE shells are not browsers. They are just new interfaces for IE's browser engine.

Like FF is a shell on top of the gecko engine you mean? And all other browsers using the gecko engine?

Gecko browsers can have different features pertaining to the engine itself, and different ways the "shell" integrates with the engine. On the other hand, well, good luck getting into the Trident engine and making it better or work better specifically with the browser.

That doesn't count when you're a fanboy!!

Last I checked, worbd was an Opera fanboy.

friend of mine uses some chinese built browser, im not sure if he's just anti-western or is the browser actually better for his needs, he never told me which browser. But i would never switch to any chinese browser anyways if not only for the simple problem of me not liking to read the UI thats in chinese and not english. :p

Yup, except that IE shells do not need to distribute the trident engine since it's already in every window, or practically every PC not named mac. On the other hand each gecko shell has to include the gecko engine in its distribution.

Maybe another difference is that the gecko engine is open source so gecko shells can change it if they want.

not really. firefox 'is' the 'gecko browser'. and it isn't as full of holes as microshock internet exploiter.

gecko was developed by the people who made firefox. ie was developed by the people who made trident.

lame ie browser shells are using trident, which they did not develop or spend time and resources making, unlike mozilla with its gecko engine and microshaft.

http://www.atmark.gr.jp/~s2000/r/index_en.html :shiftyninja:

It's an IE shell that runs from a directory. (no install)

Once you update it from the 62-65 release and click 'Check Update' it pops up a confirmation that says "Your Donut is already the latest."...and honestly...to me that was worth the whole 2 minutes of my life it wasted :p

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
