PS3: Unreal Tournament 2007

Recommended Posts

I'm confused.........will this game also come out for X360 or no?

That's not confirmed yet but Epic promised Microsoft 5 exclusive games, Gears Of War in one of them, Unreal Championship 1+2 I guess do count so that means there are at least 2 titles they are going to announce so why would they not throw in UT2007? They could easily do it, hardware is very capable and they already have UE3 up and running and the on-line services of x360 is very suitable for UT. Perhaps they would just call it Unreal Championship 360 and have it very similar to UT2007.

But nothing has been confirmed yet so...

Halo2 rules and there is nothing wrong in having a sig like that :p MasterChief owns all of us :D

even though this was like a page back i just want to clarify, i was pointing out that people that usually have game specific or console specific things in their sigs or avatars, usually are bias that way and i was just pointing that out... like a person with halo 2 in their sigs, saying something about PSM's sources... wooww

You know, since MS and Sony have made coding so universal this time around, I think this gen is going to be the "Generation of the Ports".

I really see Nintendo up there with some kickass exclusive games this time around.

yeah but if it were on bother platforms, then it wouldnt be "exclusive" to 360 now would it?

u know the funny thing is, that they are saying PS3 equals a PC + Nvidia 7800 GTX Graphics which both will be obselete by Fall 2006, release of PS3

And what's funny about that is the fact that PS3 is a little bit more powerful than Xbox 360 so that means Xbox 360 isn't quite as powerful as a current day PC. :p

But power isn't everything. And I'm not only saying that because Rev turned out to be GC 1 & ? in terms of power.:

although I am not saying anything against Nintendo (have never played one so I have no opinion)...I seriously don't subscribe to "power isn't everything" way of thinking...

forget graphics...even with 1990s graphics (not really:pp but just imagine),

more power

=better physics

=better AI

==> better gameplway

and since all I play is FPS (and a few racers) I am strongly in favor of more power is better for gaming.

Greed is good.:shiftyninja::

Actually, you couldn't be more off. I am just a fan of the Halo series (loved it on PC so had to get Halo 2 for Xbox).

And if you think that PSM is a reliable source you really need to stop, take a deep breath, try to avoid bias and think.... it's PLAYSTATION Magazine. Why do you think they were the first to interview the developers about UT 2007 and actually play it for the PS3? Because they'd obviously praise the game and the console, it's in their name!

Now if a similar title was reviewed for the first time (very early) on the Xbox 360 by XBM (Xbox Magazine) then I'd say the exact same thing.

Now stop assuming that people with gaming sigs are biased towards any particular console just because it's exclusive to that console, I happen to own a PS2 (of which the dvd laser died  so I dont really play with it anymore). So please, instead of assuming things like that, why not ask why I think PSM is an unreliable source. I mean, come on, UT2007 might be a great game (I was a big fan of Unreal on the PC a few years back and I'd love to see this game regain its ground seeing as how the last few editions have been very sub-par IMHO), but think about where the review is coming from before assuming it's the next big thing. :shiftyninja:

So everyone can see from example, THIS is trolling.

Your comment begs the question: Do you know what trolling is?

Hmm. lets see. This thread is about UT2007, not online console gaming. The article is in reference to the PS3, but makes little to no mention of online issues. This is certainly not a thread about the 360's online capabilities. So why is that you are trolling with "Because PS3 "Live" = ??". Your only contribution was trying to knock sony because they didn't copy MS's Live program that you would bash as a copy if they did indeed copy it...Yea...its not like you were trolling or anything.

Wrong.

The poster asked why would you play UT offline? Simply because you can't really play it online with PS3 unless the developer supports it himself because Sony's online capabilities are nonexistent otherwise.

Now, breathe...

And you would know this because you're the President of Sony. Oh wait...

Seriously, we don't know anything but rumors about the PS3's online capabilities.

Zzzzzzzz, nice trolling.

You expected different? some people never change.

Wow, they really did assemble for damage control. Amazing.

I'm guessing it's because it's a first gen game. I've heard PGR3 doesn't run at 'real' 720p or something like that. It's upscaled? Here we go.

http://www.playfeed.com/index.php/playfeed...rules-11151243/

http://www.ferrago.com/story/6880

http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=0...2110226&tid=211

"That's right, PGR3 renders at 1024X600 rather than 1386X720. Then the 360 hardware upscales to 720p. That works out to 614,000 pixels instead of 985,000. A significant difference. And we're still only getting 30 frames per second? Bah, humbug I say."

They, you mean person really did, assemble? No, reply so jmole flames dont go to common belief...

Where did they say that?

It happens every PS3 thread.

It happend in this thread after YOU brought it up, its like you're trying to start things, (lol, in your own words) "It happens every PS3 thread."

Anyway, good news about Ut2k7, but the PC version will be better if just for the mod's.

:)

Wrong.

Completely supported if the developer wants, and you are stupid enough to think Epic wouldn't? Come on, I know you can figure this one out. Dont be naive to think EPIC of all developers isn't going to do online for the PS3. Naughty Dog even did online for the PS2, of course Epic will with its size.

You know and knew that Epic will support online for PS3. It is only logical. Your comment was a pure flame bait to get people who are PS3 fanboys to get fired up over your lack of knowledge and cheapshot at Sony.

What are you talking about? I asked him where did Sony say all the games would be in the resolution he mentioned.

It's like your responding to a completely different question that no one asked.

Please re-read my post. I never said the developer wouldn't support it. But either way, you really cannot compare anything a developer can create for their individual games with the unified system that Microsoft has put forth. Sony fanboy or not, Microsoft fanboy or not, PC fanboy or not.

Ignore your initial comment all you want. It was flame bait. Next time, dont do it.

PS3 will let you play online like everyone has been doing for the past 10+ years on PCs. It's not that big of deal if it is unifed or not.

Your comment is meaningless without something to back up your claim. Haven't you ever written a persuasive essay before? Come on, you can do better than that. :p

Surrieall:

There is a difference between reviewing a game (opinion based) and reporting on a feature of an upcoming system from a reliable source (Epic's Mark Rein, who works closley with Sony of course). Thank you, come agian. :)

PS3 will let you play online like everyone has been doing for the past 10+ years on PCs. It's not that big of deal if it is unifed or not.

But its night and day between the differences in a unified online service, and a online service like for example, the PS2's. I'd say that's a big deal, and would rather not branch off into the pro's and cons of each type of online service, that battles been fought.

PS3 will let you play online just like the PC, but like it says on the ratings for the games, Online Experiences may Vary. ;)

(in my last quote of you Jmole, I was getting at how you were saying fanboi's assemble, but after re-reading it didnt make sense as to what I was trying to say)

Tell that to the millions of Xbox Live subscribers.

lol, "Online experiences may vary" is for the rating of the game. A game rated T for teen could change to an M for mature because of people online (cursing, etc). That's why games say that, not because of the difference between a unified system and a stand-alone system.

My last thing about this because this is getting way derailed. I know I am not alone when I say if I am playing a game like Unreal Tournament 2007 on a console, which I wouldn't anyway, I would just want to select multiplayer on the menu, have a server browser pop-up, which would let me select a game to play along with a favorites\friends list. That is it, no extra bl0at, no extra crap for me to deal with. I could care less about match making, the market place, messenging, , etc. Just like the way Unreal Tournament's multiplayer is on the PC.

Tell that to the millions of Xbox Live subscribers.
2 million Xbox live subscribers don't even come close to the amount of people who play PC games or probably even PS2 online gamers for that matter.

    • Tim Cook: "The US over time began to stop having as many vocational kinds of skills." What's the point of wasting time getting those skills if you can't get a job with them? Good Lord, maybe he and his cohort of CEO's who exported all these jobs to China should just shut the f**k up :D
    • I made a new Cinematic/Trailer for the game, this will be the intro, still a work in progress!  I also updated the Steam page with a ton of new screenshots! 👀 https://store.steampowered.com/app/3925340/Incoherence_Dark_Rooms/
    • Closed-loop cooling and a custom 800G network protocol let the $7.3B campus run as one AI training machine. Microsoft confirmed June 23, 2026, that its Fairwater campus in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, is fully operational — and the engineering behind it makes the facility something fundamentally different from every data center that came before it. Where conventional cloud infrastructure racks up general-purpose servers and parcels out workloads to each one independently, Fairwater links hundreds of thousands of NVIDIA GB200 Blackwell GPUs into a single, coherent cluster using a two-story building design, 800-gigabit-per-second Ethernet fabric, and a proprietary networking protocol co-developed with OpenAI and NVIDIA. The result, according to Microsoft, is the closest thing to a purpose-built AI supercomputer that any company has ever placed in commercial operation. https://www.techtimes.com/articles/319205/20260627/microsoft-opens-fairwater-wisconsin-ai-campus-runs-one-supercomputer-via-800g-ethernet.htm
