Midnight Mick
I was browsing DeviantArt & found just a plain white cursor set just like Windows default but Anti-Aliased. These were created by "Niraj" & are way cool. :) No extra software needed to use these either. gigapixels Veteran Posted December 9, 2005 Veteran Share Posted December 9, 2005 Small changes, but it actually does make a difference. Thanks to you for posting it and Niraj for creating. User6060
cool, subtle but still good and smooth. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/406382-cursor-anti-aliased-cursors-15/#findComment-586898515 Share on other sites
stadsport
What exactly are the differences? The standard Windows default mouse cursors are, for the most part, the same as they've been since Windows 3.1. These have anti-aliasing, which makes them look much smoother. ProtoPunch
This makes the mouse cursor really *pop* Good stuff. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/406382-cursor-anti-aliased-cursors-15/#findComment-586903165 Share on other sites
n30w1n
So I guess these will work all the same with dark backgrounds? It's interesting, I never realized that Windows XP had an alpha channel for cursor images by default. There I was using CursorXP like a sucker :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/406382-cursor-anti-aliased-cursors-15/#findComment-586903169 Share on other sites

sdb815
I've been looking for a set just like this. Can't believe it's been released for over a year. Thanks for the link. raskren
Since modifying all 6 or 7 individual cursors will just be too much for some people, I created this reg file to automate the process. Dump all the individual icon files into %systemdrive%\Windows\Cursors\. Import the registry entries. Then open mouse properties in the control panel and select "AA Cursors" from the Scheme drop down list and apply. raskren
wow makes the mouse seem more responsive as well. Because there are fewer jaggies, the cursor becomes less prone to wind resistance.
