Umm, there would have to be some kind of CPU. Are they suggesting it's a thin client system? (like those that use WinCE and run terminal services clients?)

That's nothing new really, but just a new way of using them. Could be interesting, in the off chance that it ends up being true.

yeah- even if it's just a furby cpu.

I admire efforts like this to bring technology to poor countries. If you are interested in similar efforts I suggest you to do a search for the 100 dolar laptop or the AMD's PIC

I certainly won't call India as poor country... and I am sure China is also not poor country at all...

Deep

...The PCs won?t have CPU; they will be bundled with Keyboard, Mouse and Monitor. The PC will connect to the hosted system on their server and the remote OS will manage storage and functioning of the PC...

So what it will run on hopes, dreams, rainbows, and puppydogs? lol seriously, seems kind of fake to me

India isn't a poor country, but, what would you call a country where almost its entire population lives in pretty obnoxious conditions and still has the black plague? A bad country?

A rich (in terms of culture, history) country w/ poor people.

I think the basic "os" is gonna be the modem driver stuff to connect to the internet and their servers. But if you think about it, if there is no internet, it is a waste... I would spend another 100 bucks in the US and buy a regular PC. :p

a 'computer' without a cpu is like my ass without a hole. isn't good for much of anything...

LMFAO!

In general terms, a poor country. I have been there once, if a cop catches you for running a light (running a light is quite common), you give him a few bucks, and he will let you go. Not a very safe place to live and yes it is a poor country. :/
