for $200 you can get a regular pc these days. so why go thin?

Probably because Windows won't be an option (Costs, hell we talking legally here at least...), Linux will be way to complicated for people like that, pc's will probably blow over with virus trojans and stuff, and Google takes care of that and im sure it'll be a pretty Easy system to use for those people..., i really like the idea.

A world ran by Google?, i wouldn't mind...

And a PC without CPU like your Ass without the hole?, now thats fun

Not diversing topic to poor and rich top so not arguing much on it...different people different opinion....

Which Hundustan Times was this in? What day and what page? Cause I get the Hindustan Times and I never came across it?

I admire efforts like this to bring technology to poor countries. If you are interested in similar efforts I suggest you to do a search for the 100 dolar laptop or the AMD's PIC

Intel is calling the $100 laptop a toy, but I think it is great! Hell, I think every laptop should have a handcrank. I'd definately buy these things if they came to the USA for $150-200

Lucky for Deep and HT, as even Google is not sure/confirmed this news yet publicly. HT correspondents are "spies" I guess ;)

India isn't a poor country, but, what would you call a country where almost its entire population lives in pretty obnoxious conditions and still has the black plague? A bad country?

My dear Portuguese friend, would you mind getting your facts correct first.

Go to the CIA Factfile of countries and compare (using graphs) most of the countries with various parameters like, economic growth, socio-economic patterns, scientific advancement, agricultural, infrastructure, technology et al. For a change you would find India better placed among developing countries and on some aspects at par with "developed nations."

Regarding obnoxious conditions and black plague, is just the one side of coin which foriegn documentary makers are showing to the world to "make a fast buck" or "humbly depciting their love towards downridden."

I'm sorry for any intrusion, but I was tempted to say this because some stataments were grossly untrue in nature in this whole discussion. Thanks!
