After weeks of uncertainty the new Super Aguri team has received the unanimous approval of the other Formula One constructors to compete in 2006 - clearing its way to reapply for an entry to the FIA.

"I am very happy to be able to announce that all ten teams have approved our late entry to the Formula One Constructors' Championship today," said Aguri Suzuki, the team principal, "I would like to thank all of the teams for approving our late entry and assure them that Super Aguri Formula One team will co-operate and do our best to reach your expectations."

The team's problems with gaining the support of other Constructors was believed to have come from rival's fears that Super Aguri might take Championship points and thereby indirectly cost them in terms of television rights and travel payments.

The solution means that the team looks set to line up on the grid in Bahrain for the first race of the season. Despite being principally Japanese, Super Aguri is based in the UK at the former base of the erstwhile Arrows Formula One team. Aguri's cars will initially be based on Arrow's unraced A23 chassis, which was previously owned by Minardi, with power supplied by customer Honda engines. An all-new car will subsequently be introduced. Takuma Sato is expected to be confirmed as the team's principal driver within the next week or so.

"We don't expect to be on the pace straight away," said Daniele Audetto, the team's managing director, "we will use the first Grands Prix as a chance to train the team before our definitive car reaches the track."

The Honda-backed outfit will now seek formal acceptance from the FIA and with the Agreement of the all the teams now in place they will hope that they have done enough to secure their place on the starting grid when the 2006 season starts in Bahrain in March.
