[RELEASE] Longhorn Percept

Recommended Posts

It's great but as they said, maybe a sub-style with normal sized title bars will be AWESOME

Some things:

Menus are not readable (gray bg - gray text :s) (only in FF for now)

The highlite color in the taskbar feels out of the theme, maybe have them some kind of gray would sit better

I really love your theme it's great (Y)(Y)(Y)

Same here...what userchrome change can be made to get rid of the light text problem in Firefox (well, at leats it's a problem for me)?

Try this in your userchrome:

/* Menu text colour */

menubar > menu[_moz-menuactive=true][open=true] {

color: #333 !important;

font-weight: normal !important;

and

/* Menu text colour */

menubar > menu[_moz-menuactive=true] {

color: #333 !important;

font-weight: normal !important;

and

/* Menu text colour */

menubar > menu {

color: #333 !important;

font-weight: normal !important;

Go into control panel>folder options and make sure 'show hidden folders' is checked.

Now, for most people, you can find it here:

C:/Documents and Settings/Your Username/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/wierdnumbers and letters/Chrome

and the file is called Userchrome.css.example. Open in notepad, and paste my text ABOVE the @namespace line, then save the file and delete the .example from the file name.

Ta Da!

If it doesn't work for any reason, post back, and we'll try to figure it out. My own firefox skin will be released next week, so that might be helpful, as it won't have any menu issues.

One issue I found. When you choose "user overrides" and then pick "always use the taskbar defined in "Longhorne percept", it reverts the taskbar back to windows classic even if you already have the percept skin loaded, or any other skin for that matter. Can someone else test this? Thanks.

Yes, I know what it is now, so I'll fix it in the next update. I'll release tomorrow because there are a few other bugfixes needed too.

Can't assist you on the taskbar though I'm afraid. I've tested it also, and get the same problem, but I also get that problem when trying to do the same with dreamland and with another skin. I don't think that there's something I can correct to change this, I think it must be WB5. If someone knows differently, please tell me and I'll include that fix in the update.

Yeah, it's odd, the black stripped menus flash out for a half a second every now and then on the start menu, but then back to white. The other odd thing is the Favorites menu looks white on IE, but then all the other drop down menus look correct.

Just tried the taskbar thing on Dreamland and you are right, same issue, but like Arrow, Vista and other per pixel taskbars work fine, so who knows.

Are you taking requests? If so, I'd like to request a 'normal' sized titlebar version..The hugemongous titlebars cause too many retarded problems for this to be useable for me..

Also, How do you get rid of the icons that are in the titlebar (to the immediate left of the titlebar text)?

Also, I like saying hugemongous.

    • Microsoft brings Planner Agent to all Microsoft 365 Copilot users by Ivan Jenic Image: Microsoft Microsoft has announced that Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot is now generally available to all users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license. Planner Agent is the latest addition in the string of AI features that Microsoft is implementing across virtually all of its products. The agent lets you manage tasks through natural language prompts directly inside Microsoft 365 Copilot. You can create and update tasks, check priorities, and get insights about current entries without leaving the chat interface. The general availability release comes with a handful of new additions on top of what was available during the initial rollout. A new plan picker lets you search and filter your plans by name, then update task names, statuses, due dates, or priorities through the agent. There's also a goals bucket now, which lets you group tasks under specific goals. This builds on the Goals view, a feature that was introduced as part of the broader Planner refresh that rolled out earlier. Image: Microsoft | Planner Agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot All AI-generated plans and tasks are created in draft mode by default, so you can review and approve changes before anything goes through. This is actually a thoughtful safety feature, because trusting AI to handle all your tasks without a human in the loop is usually a recipe for disaster. Having tasks initially saved as drafts is the best possible middle ground. Microsoft also says that not all tasks are executed equally. Simple tasks get processed quickly, while more complex ones, like building a plan from a Word, Excel, or PowerPoint file, are handed to a more capable model. Microsoft says this approach delivers the best performance, but it could also help with usage management, as you won't have to waste tokens on performing simple tasks. Planner Agent is available now across Teams, Loop, SharePoint, and other Microsoft 365 apps for anyone on a Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription.
    • To be clear I'm anti trump, the bigger point is why review this game at all?
    • Trillion dollar Microsoft has to reduce spending by hurting more people. Good job Microsoft. Good Job Asha.
    • That's a shame. The big Xbox reset when Phil and Sarah left and then Asha came on and brought a new team of executives, and all the layoffs last year and saying that the ABK merger wouldn't result in redundancies I am surprised they are calling for yet another reset and yet more layoffs.
