[RELEASE] Longhorn Percept

Recommended Posts

I'm not doing the installer, but as I understand it, yes. The only proviso to that is that for it to look exactly the same, you'll need to have styler, avedesk and WB5 installed and running. Apart from that, yes. As for the above, the avedesk sidebar will be provided in the pack. It's not quite finished yet. The great thing about it is that, whilst I will include some widgets to match Vista, there are plenty of existing things for it, as in my screenshot, so you'll be able to have plenty of things to play with. Now, why isn't someone reading this also reading my desperate plea for help with my shellstyle three or four threads down? that problem is driving me crazy....

Maybe PM Boz? He did some shellstyles for LE4, and seemed to know what he is doing....

I'd prefer no installer, but that's just me.. Also, not addressing your post, but where can I get those folder icons? Those are great!

All skins will be available as a pack without the installer because I never trust them myself. The installer will only be provided as an extra for those who are looking to change quickly, and is based on a very succesful installer package, which to date has received very few complaints from anyone. It will not be included unless every system tested reacts well, and the uninstaller is flawless.

Folder icons are to be included in the pack, along with other icons modded and recoloured from Vista. File types in my screens are Documinium, and the drives are from Hein's M.A.C set. Of course, these will not be included.

@hades16, this is not designed to be a vista theme, it will not mimick vista accurately, except for vista percept, which is really just for fun, but which is indistinguishable from the real thing in still shots.

^^ Because he is t3h n00b!!!11!!oneone. Anyway. I'm not so smart at changing file type icons, and in Icontweaker, it only gives me a short list, so do savourymonkey, could you explain what to do in Reshacker (I assume that that is the safest way, right?) in order to change the different icons for .rar, .mp3, .wav, .mpeg, and others?

Iphile is very good as is icon-sushi (is that the name, I forget?) Changing your icons in shell32 is great for most things, but file types tend to be contained in the .exe of the program that they are associated with, so, for example, if you use firefox as your browser, the icon for offline webpages is located in firefox.exe. That means that having some icon changing program is really a necessity, unless you have a lot of free time on your hands. PM me and I'll direct you to something half-way decent.

avedesk sidebar ? what's that ? did I miss something ?

It's just a sidebar running within Avedesk. You know with sysstats, you can have calculators running, RSS feeds galore, and other stuff. This is just a complete dock though. You could also do the same with the leaked Vista sidebar, in which the patch and stuff like that is legal, yet the actual sidebar is illigal. Just wait some time till the Vista 5308 sidebar gets leaked, there will definetely be some good stuff over there.

This maintenance-focused release includes bug fixes, updated translations, and a range of safe enhancements. This release fixes a Windows security issue that could allow arbitrary file deletion during privileged cleaning (reported by Zeze with TeamT5). It also adds new cleaners (including a DNS cache cleaner, Claude Code, and Visual Studio Code forks), support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles, new deep scan options for developer directories like node_modules and venv, and safer, faster file shredding. All Platforms Added cleaners for Claude Code, DNS cache, and many Visual Studio Code forks. Added support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles. Chrome can now clean downloaded AI models. Deep Scan can optionally remove venv, __pycache__, node_modules, and .angular directories. Deep Scan is faster by skipping directories on the keep list. File shredding is safer, faster, and leaves fewer recoverable traces. Improved handling of cookies, symlinks, Unicode filenames, external processes, and configuration files. Improved Expert Mode warnings and long warning dialogs. Fixed crashes related to cleaner detection, invalid Unicode, and malformed cleaner data. Clipboard is now cleared automatically after shredding files via paste operations. Linux Added AppImage support. Added cleaners for Visual Studio Code, Codeium, Librewolf (.deb), Transmission (Flatpak), and Profanity. Improved Linux trash detection, including Snap-installed applications and mounted drives. Fixed Wayland root CLI issues and several Snap-related problems. Improved package dependencies, AppStream metadata, and desktop file handling. Fixed startup crashes when Python Requests is unavailable. Windows Fixed a security vulnerability that could allow arbitrary file deletion when cleaning with elevated privileges. Added %WindowsSystem% variable support. Improved clipboard clearing using native Windows APIs. Improved installer experience on unsupported Windows versions. Reduced installer size and improved application robustness. Fixed Unicode handling, filename anonymization, Git revision reporting, and splash screen stability. • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
